    Default Building approval

    Hi All

Does anyone know if it is possible to get building approval to build a pool from some party other than local council?

I live in ipswich and our council doesnt work. by their own admission it would take over 4 months to process the building approval because they are under administration now (not sure what one has to do with the other to be honest)

I honestly dont like that i have to seek approval to build something on my own property.

I have already got an extract of where all the pipes run under the property

    Regards

4 months is fast compared to our council

You looking for Building Approval or Planning Approval?

I've used external Building Permits before for sheds.

Pool.... Maybe call it a Pond or Water for Fire Fighting.
Saves a lot of inspections and regulations

The easiest method might well be to engage a pool company to sort all the BS out for you.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

i was thinking that but i purchased the pool online new for a little over 2k (above ground or can be installed semi inground) and everywhere i have contacted has wanted to sell me a pool themselves.

do you think a pool company would be willing to just do the approval and certification part of it?

two shows in hell???? your fencing will cost more than the pool put a gizebo over pool so it cant be seen by google earth and they wont know, good luck, councils use google earth to look at sections for additional buildings around every six months but they skip gazebos as they are temporary structures or get big pockets cheers don

i would firstly look at the council regs to see what the requirements are
especially concerning fence's as mentioned by hinekadon.

The fence issue can be the one point that gets you knocked back
and cost a penny to fix also your neighbor could say fk you i like the fence the way
it is and the fun starts.

in nsw i had to go through replacing my fence because of age and in the end cost me a few grand to
be compliant with the new regs i also had to move my pump-filter etc because of it.

Many councils these days allow the use of Certifying Authorities that you appoint as the Principal Certifying Authority. Do a search for "Certifying Authority" in your local area.

+1 put a gazebo over it. fence the thing and if the council complain, be prepared to pull it down.

I have recently found the pool i was going to install didn't have an engineering certificate included so i have decided to get a more expensive one from a company called classic pools.
I will now have it installed fully in ground and it seems there are pool installers that handle council bureaucracy. as it will be fully in ground i dont need approval for a deck and will probably build a deck behind it to the clothes line instead and will not bother with approval for that.
