yep pissed everything blocked.
now have vpn everything unblocked just cost me money to do it.
So I notice today my favourite torrent and nzb sites are now blocked on clearnet.
So far, VPN is still working. Hope I don't have to resort to the deepweb just to get a few movies in future.
It's recently occurred to me, that if I want anything vaguely subversive from the internet, I had better get it soon, and store it locally. Because my arsehole government is probably going to keep going down this path, and soon all that will be available will be a government 'sanitized' internet.

Statistically, if you wait long enough, everything will happen!
i tried all sorts of things seems to be a smart firewall.
blocks the content not the web address but adds the web address to the block list.
You can use TOR browser.

Pssst....
Not even fingerprinting possible.
Plug the two red plugs together in the tool bar (right) and watch the magic happen(suggest Netherlands).
It is then so tight you can't even login to Austech but you can unplug again for that and very compatible.
Torrents on the local computer and the risks is so yesterday:
bitport.io
Grabs a file in seconds. Only downside slow downloading from the site but that is technically not so illegal as you are not sharing and you have to pay if the file is larger than 1GB.

Update: A deletion of features that work well and ain't broke but are deemed outdated in order to add things that are up to date and broken.
Compatibility: A word soon to be deleted from our dictionaries as it is outdated.

i do use a vpn and have not had any issues to date with site blocking
Nobody said that VPNs are blocking anything.
It will take some time for the new encryption laws to be implemented and practically (mis)used.
How far .gov.au can go, like getting VPN companies to reveal your data on a regular base is very questionable.
Simply blocking private VPN use altogether like it is done in China would seem more practical.
Yes, your ISP sees you are using a VPN entry node (unless you use above mentioned epic in proxy mode).
Yes, they collect meta data of that fact so gov.au can have them technically block access.
No I am not aware that such measures are part of the new encryption laws ATM. I assume more lobbying from the industry is required.

Nothin new here. It's going to happen at whatever level the major parties are bribed to enact, as this and political superannuation and perks seem to be all they can agree on.
All workarounds mentioned work, but the simplest is something like this.....
OR
1. Get a seedbox and VPN.
2. Let the seedbox do all the torrents on a server overseas.
3. Encrypt the sh!t in the seedbox.
3. Use an sftp file protocol to transfer the unreadable items to your pc.
4. Decrypt....WATCH!!!!!....
The fact that there's a highway to hell and a stairway to heaven says a lot about the anticipated traffic flow.
one of my nzb sites got blocked, but found out they have a .org mirror
& not that i use it much, but i still find working, even with telstra dns & i dont use vpn (too friggin slow)
edit, found this too,

Politicians don't get the internet. They can't fathom that it is beyond their control to effectively regulate. These blocks are totally ineffective against anyone who can be bothered to do a search and even change their DNS, let alone VPN's, proxies etc. The only ones it deters are those who simply can't be bothered. I suspect the movie companies getting the blocking orders know this, and see it as the first step in an escalating process of ever more draconian measures. Their next approach to government they will have evidence it is not effective and press for worse measures.
