    Default Password On External HDD

    Whats the best software to lock up a external HDD
    As to keep my secret files (stream to bin and IR2 keys for Dream Emulator....)

    i think the PATA system allows for locking of HDD??? at least that is what they do with origional XBOX's and hence why you have to go through all the crap to unlock the HDD to use it elsewhere.

    maybe google "locking ide drive" or similar?

    All nice programs and will do the job

    But in a perfect world I would love one that when you plug the usb drive it ask for the password to login into the usb ,otherwise it wont let you browse the usb drive folders.

    Not being fussy or anything

    or just compress them into a password protected self extracting rar file. encrypt the file names as well ......

    remember to run window washer etc to get rid of temp files when you are done....

    once again i recommend truecrypt, you can encrypt the whole drive or a portion of it.think of a visit you had and what had to be done before a certain usb was visible
