Yep, that's modern "progressive leftism". If you don't get the result you want, cause as much trouble as possible to force another vote. People will then be that confused the majority will vote to stay and the endless parade of economic asylum seekers can continue to invade England via Europe.

The US has the same issue. Trump was elected on a promise to build a wall. Obama built a wall, no one blocked funds. Bush and Clinton built a wall, same.
But because the lefties don't like trump, all of a sudden walls are inhuman.

No sorry. Trump WAS elected to build a wall funded by Mexico and you know it admin. He lied and a small but critical group of Americans were stupid and dumb enough to believe this ridiculous furphy.

It's the Democrats (none I whom I personally have any time for, especially Clinton) who are right here. My personal dislike of this stupid, probably traiterous and narcissistic individual has nought to do with this particular issue and no matter how much you defend him, you know it too.

Oh, on a personal level......F*ck him!! He's a self centred liar.

If Trump gets his way, Mexico will ultimately bear the cost of the wall.
It does not have to be a direct cash payment.
    Think outside the square.
The money America will ultimately save with control over illegal Immigrants alone would pay for the wall.
Mexico will bear the brunt of handling the illegals previously passing through.
The famed march must have caused them a Financial hernia.

Pure rationalisation...I can just see those good'ol boys flooding south to pick them melons. The US RELIES on these cheap illegal workers for basic labour and always has. I see today he was saying that TEXAS jails were full of illegal Mexican child molesters....Really?

As for the Mexicans "eventually" bearing the cost, it sounds like you want and do believe in some dodgy shell game. As Trumps backroom dealings get exposed, I expect him to disappear anyway, but I would prefer sanity to prevail.

    @hinekadon...yeah...he's certainly entertaining...

America has already got a good supply of "melon pickers". Do not need any more.

Admin, please remove all Trump discussion to another thread.
This thread is about Britain leaving the EU.

If you "Think outside the square" the Trump discussion is quite relevant

Prime Minister Theresa May faces the prospect of a historic defeat in a vote on her Brexit deal in parliament, potentially leaving Britain in limbo about the biggest political and economic change for the country in decades.

Barely two-and-a-half months before Britain is due to leave the EU, May's expected defeat on Tuesday leaves open a range of outcomes, from resurrecting her deal, leaving the EU with no deal at all, or holding another referendum that could halt Brexit altogether.

The prime minister's hopes of keeping her widely unpopular plan alive will hinge on the scale of her expected loss. A comparatively narrow defeat could allow her to try again, but a loss by 100 votes or more would most likely be seen as dooming the plan for good.

A spokesman for May said she would respond quickly to the result of the vote.

He also said there had been no discussion at a meeting between the prime minister and her cabinet on Tuesday morning of delaying Brexit beyond the March 29 deadline.

May says accepting her deal is the only way parliament can fulfil its promise to deliver on the 2016 vote to quit the EU, and failing to do so would be "catastrophic" for democracy.

Her ministers pressed that message on the morning of the vote.

"The British people have placed a responsibility on us," Environment Secretary Michael Gove told BBC radio. "Are we going to live up to that responsibility and vote to leave the European Union or are we going to disappoint them and damage our democracy by not voting to leave the EU?"

Many Brexit-supporting MPs from May's Conservative Party reject the deal, particularly a "backstop" requirement that Northern Ireland stay closely aligned to EU rules to avoid the return of a hard border with EU member Ireland.

Dominic Raab, who resigned as May's Brexit minister in November in protest at her plans, said the government should not lose its nerve over the possibility of a no-deal Brexit, something many employers fear would mean chaos for business.

"It's time for us, through this vote, to make clear not just that the current terms are unacceptable, but that we are not just throwing our hands up in the air," he said.

"We are going to leave on March 29."

Investors sense the possibility of a no-deal Brexit is receding, given the concerns of MPs about the upheaval it could bring.

Germany's foreign minister said the EU could hold new talks with Britain after a defeat in parliament of the plan May struck with other leaders of the bloc in November, but he ruled out significant changes to the agreement.

May has refused to budge over her deal despite criticism from all quarters. The agreement, which envisages close economic ties with the EU, has united the opposing sides of the debate -- pro-EU MPs who see it as the worst of all worlds and Brexit supporters who say it will make Britain a vassal state.

    Question....

What did Britain do before the EU??

Did they just "poof" appear when the EU was established.

They were probably our biggest export market. Their entry certainly changed our export market and made us find new markets.
When they leave we can again export lots of our produce to them, however most of our industry has disappeared limiting our opportunities.
