    More likely the likes of Cubbie Station who "steal" all the water they can get, thus preventing proper flows.

    I dont think there has really been any specific evidence to suggest over allocation is the cause, I reckon I have read at least a dozen articles about it.

    It may be a factor, which is a lot different to a cause. Waterways in a country like Australia don't ebb and flow to a timetable. If through drought a waterway stops running , its easy to say irrigation caused it.

    Regardless, it should be fully investigated.
