Bosch 6000 reed switches all open
Hi. I recently turned off my Bosch 6000 at the battery and plug because it kept going off. I realised when I had a look at it 7 days later it was just because I’d taped the panel tamper button closed (instead of using it as a tamper) and the tape had failed and allowed the press switch to turn on and trigger the alarm. I resolved this by just bypassing this with a spade connector. However now that I have turned the alarm back on all my door wired reed switches are saying open when they’re not. They were all working fine before this. Any idea what’s happened? I think they are all wired to the extender board if that makes any difference. Any ideas on how to fix ?
Thanks

Is the expander board working / online?

As far as I can tell. The power led is on. The green status light is on with the tiniest of flickers
Use the manual and do an input test. I think it is code menu 3 9
See if it changes state when door is open or close

I haven’t tried it through the menu yet but on my iFob app the status doesn’t change whether the door is open or closed . Normally it would
Any trouble events listed on keypad or iFob?

No trouble events. Keypad just saying the doors are open

I have a vague memory when I installed it about dual zone wiring using two different resistors for each zone. I can’t remeber if there’s a setting to allow dual zone wiring? Is it possible if there is such a setting it’s parameters have been lost ? Just clutching at straws here
No settings should be altered if the alarm had been down powered, then powered up at a later date.
There is zone doubling option under zone inputs.
No wireless zones?

There’s a wireless front door reed which is working fine, it’s the only wireless zone. Interestingly however I had a look in the history in the iFob app and what I thought was the main panel tamper triggering an alarm was actually the Expander tamper repeatedly getting triggered. I’ve no idea why. I haven’t a tamper cable attached to the pins on it. Maybe the expander board is malfunctioning ?

Sounds like an expander board issue?
Is it the mini expander or the expander with power supply?
Reboot alarm system again if expander has own power supply make sure this is powered up first then power up main board.

Yeah. That seems to make sense. It’s powered by the main board. Tried resetting . Not working. I’ll have a look tonight with the Solutionlink software. I’ve forgotten a lot of this stuff though as I installed 3-4 years ago. If no joy I might purchase another expander board. The current one is the CM704B.

I’ve just had a look at the solution link software in the interactive mode and all the doors are listed as open with a Resistance level of 6800. When I actually open the door it changes to approximately 61600 so it’s obviously picking up the change. Not sure what to do as everything seems to be working normally except the panel status of those doors should be normal and not OPEN.
What’s even more bizarre is that if I change the global options to EOL 6k8 only (instead of 3k3/6k8 split) the door status changes to normal and it works fine ! But of course this messes up all of my zones with 3k3 resistance. Not sure why it’s doing this suddenly . Has been fine for the last few years

Further update- some of the resistances of the zones on the main panel are reading incorrectly in the soutionlink software I checked one that is reading incorrectly as 2200 in the alarm solutionlink software but with a multimeter it’s reading correctly as 6800. It’s very bizarre
Sounds like they are on the main board. What zone numbers are they?
What zones are they doubled with? Are these working OK?
Bosch 6000 reed switches all open
2k2 is the tamper resistor value in a dual EOL setup for option 11. You’d see ~9K if the door reed was open and 2k2 if it’s shut. You mentioned an expansion board. Is that for additional inputs? Maybe post a pic if you’re unsure. Are there more than two wires in any of those input terminals?
