    Default Clone Sim Card?

I currently have an Optus sim card though i am thinking about cloning it for my car to use strictly as data only. Anyone with experience with this? Does it work? Will Optus know/care if i do? If it's strictly for data only?

    Thanks

I just got a second sim card with minimum data allowance and data shared it with my phones account. Optus were happy to do it. I never use my data allowance (30G) each month anyway.

Telstra don't allow data sharing anymore, if you change your plan now they will cancel the data sim.

Sim cloning hasn't worked on Aus sims for 10 years or more, at least not publically.

I doubt there are any v1 sims in use anywhere now.....

Hmm, the sim came along with the iPad, both from Telstra.

i had a data sim in my samsung pad for years, when i just upgraded my main plan on phone that was shared they cancelled it. no new data share plans, you can keep old plan as long as you like, but prices go down so quickly its not worth hanging on to an old plan.
doesnt really matter, just use my phone as a hotspot.

got 60gig data with no excess charges, just shaping, unlimited calls and text to aus and overseas. $59 a month.

I've still got 5 or 6 months to go .. doesn't really matter because I never use it now anyway.

Only on personal plans. Data share SIM’s are still available on business plans and above.

Haha. Why go in-store, when all the (correct!) info is on their website:

Cause I was in town anyway and also had to order a mobile signal booster...

And even though its a business phone its in my name and I can't be assed going through the rigmarole to change the number to the business, its easier to just use my phones hotspot....
