Default Open Ended Question on OBD2 software

As above you might need to be a little more detailed on what OBD2 software you are after. If you car is new than 2006 then most OBD2 scan tools will work on it and allow you to read a number of things.

However if you want to do more than just read/clear engine, ABS and transmission codes then you will need specific software.

However like I said it depends on your car. As I have a older 100 series landcruiser and I cannot access that with the OBD2 port.

    Best of luck,

I've never been able to convince a Tojo to shake hands with me, I thought that they were just plain rude. Now I find that you need string! So, how much string do you need? What type?
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

If you are lucky and smart enough to own a Ford Ranger/Everest, a good site to visit is Rangermods
With the right connector you can not only read faults but change settings, eg smart battery, alarms, day light driving lights etc
There is a fine line between "Hobby" and "Madness"

    Good thread by Thala Dan........................

The fact that there's a highway to hell and a stairway to heaven says a lot about the anticipated traffic flow.
