Video Wall

I want to make a video wall from 9x 40" LCD TV screens. What is available? Is there an inexpensive way of doing it?

I want to be able to send up 9 different video signals to the screens and or one image spread across all the screens.

Is there a kit suitable for this?

Some plasma screens also come with the hardware to do this built-in so that you can connect several of them together as an instant video wall. The NEC 50PD1 and 42PD2 screens have this feature. You can buy 2 or 4 screen mounting brackets to connect the screens together into the video wall. The Eizo 50" screen also has this feature.

I was at the mall the other day and they had this video wall set up. There were around 6 panels wide and 4 panels high. The panels had no frames - they were butted hard up against each other, so only a very slim line between them. I couldn't get close enough to see who made them, but it looked very good.
Panels would have been 42" in size at a guess.

Most commercial plasma's such as Hitachi and Panasonic have the wall ID feature on the panel or as an add on which can be set to the position they will have in the wall matrix.

For business, I know some brands such as Matrox and Advantech. The have video wall controllers.

Parklea Markets in Sydney had a similar setup to the one Studio1 mentions using either 4 or 6 screens with each screen showing just their portion of the whole picture.

When I saw the posting heading, it reminded me of the 'Video Wall' old Galaxy/CETV had either on ch 13 or 16 way before the dawning of Austar and Foxtel.
