Default Netgear Nighthawk M1 band locking

I have read that the M1 can be band locked. I have followed the guides but for the life of me am unable to to telnet into the unit.

If anyone has had success using either Linux or Windows XP I would be pleased to receive step by step instructions.

I want to do this so that the unit can no longer, by itself, change from one band giving reasonable download speed to another band with lower download speed. At the same time hopefully enable carrier aggregation to get even higher speeds.

I got into one using Linux with a browser by entering in the address bar, hitting Enter, then used admin for username & I think the default password was also admin.
Apparently you can also get in with a browser & .

    Tried the app?

I do not mean getting into the GUI - that's the easy bit!

What I want to do is telnet into the M1 so I can add the band masks.

No. I am almost certain that it would not do what I want.
