Default Paul David Ryan - Another Convicted Pedo Priest

    Unbelievable, where does it end?
How good is the Church hey.... In his own words

Ryan told the commission he didn’t believe he would have offended against children if he hadn’t been in the church.
Paul David Ryan today pleaded guilty to one count of indecent assault, one count of sexual penetration with a person aged between 16 and 18 years and one count of indecent act with a child under 16.

Ryan was committed to stand trial on nine charges but ultimately pleaded guilty to just three.

    This statement is pure gold

Ryan said he made confessions to priests, including now deceased Ronald Pickering, also a paedophile, as a way to reconcile his actions with God.

He's going to be awfully disappointed when he finally kicks the bucket. I'm sure God is not too pleased with priests, or anyone for that fact, who drag His name through the mud for their own pleasure.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

I'm sure God would be mortified if he actually existed.....

It ends when humanity grows up and finally admits that Santa Clause doesn't exist.and EVERY religion is exposed as a myth...

Its also interesting that 2 convicted priests have been released from jail in Australia in the last 3 months after being found innocent. Oops, sorry about that.

Our justice system is unable to find anyone innocent, and even if Judges and Juries had the legal power to do this it is impossible. A not guilty finding means nothing more than the evidence presented to the Court was not sufficient to prove that the person was guilty. An Appeals court which quashes a conviction can either substitute a not guilty verdict or order a re-trial. It is also worth remembering that the standard is very high. You can be pretty sure someone is guilty but still have a reasonable doubt. Some of those who believe in an afterlife or karma may nevertheless believe Justice will ultimately be done.

I think juries are more the problem these days. A judge is obliged to hand down a penalty if a jury finds someone guilty. And as I have seen in recent times, when it comes to priests it doesn't really matter if there is any evidence.......the pitch fork mobs move in to whip the crowd in to a frenzy. I compare the recent Pell trial to something akin to the Salem Witch Trials....no evidence required for conviction.

    What evidence would there be?
A witness is one thing, but what else?

People that commit these crimes, generally make sure its done in private and behind closed doors
It is a dam shame in the Pell case the other victim has deceased

The other Pell "victim" told his mother that he had never been sexually assaulted by a priest. That's according to his mother. Closed doors ? Apparently Pell did it with the door open for 10-15 minutes with several hundred people in the building and while wearing ceremonial robes from neck to toe that are so heavy it takes 2 people to dress him before hand. On one of the busiest days they have.

I have no problem with pedophile priests being convicted. I do have a problem with ANYONE being convicted simply on the word of one single person who has not provided any evidence at all.

If we are prepared to accept that kind of law, expect to go to prison if you are ever accused of anything at all. Evidence will not be required, simply an accusation will suffice.

I would expect George Pell will be released on appeal. I cannot see how any magistrate or judge that is true to their profession could find him guilty beyond reasonable double based on the flimsiest evidence ever presented. Victoria Police should be prosecuted for actually laying the charges in the first place. Pell was under no obligation to actually come back to Australia and face the charges, he could not be forced to do so.
