    Default Glass break sensor testing.

    Hi.
I need to test a glass break sensor.
I used a keys and glass break tester by interlogix but it did not trigger the Interlogix Glasd break sensor.
Any suggestion about the best glass break sensor that be tested by using the glass break tester or emulator?
I had an incident last week. Four of the glass break near each other and the glass was broken with an Ax but none of the Risco glass break was triggered. And they are less than a meter distance from the glass.

They need to hear a high and low freq noise, like glass breaking sound and a clap/stomp noise.
Even with glass break testers they can be had to trigger.
Try tester and throwing keys to sensor. Throwing a bunch of keys normally works I find. Just don't damage the ceiling.

I tried shaking the keys near the glass break, the sensor start blinking only but was not enough to unseal the zone.

We used a Sentrol 5709 acoustic test unit. It was okay.
The best thing was a glass Agee jar with broken plate glass bits in it. Hold it by the location you need to test and thump it with the heel of tour palm.

One of our techs used 2 x bits of Aluminium box section. One bit 300 x 40mm and a 4 x 30mm piece of flat bar that he scraped along the box section. Seemed to work.

Glass break detectors are so environmental dependent.

    Not a fan

One of the technicians uses some marbles in a small bag near the glass break to test the sensor and he said it works.

It's hardly a test if it's being done close to the detector.
Does it work at the location where detection is required? I'm being a "assessor" now.....
