Well, this is years old now, but what an effort from an unemployed kid, to scrounge his own parts and make a Elec/Solar Push Bike, then use it to navigate the full length of the Canning Stock route!!!
He even had enough power in reserve that he could weld his own repairs as he travelled!!
What a doer!
In a day and age where we are told we need 3" lifts, 33" tyres, 4 fridges and Lockers, Showers, etc
This kid designed and build a vehicle, albeit a Push Bike towing a solar array and took on the countries longest most remote track!
If u want to go on an expedition get a Land Rover, if u want to come home from an expedition get a Landcruiser!

Here is good info and detailed photos of his bike and journey
So how long will it be before someone builds a light weight buggy with a fold out solar panel roof
You could have a 5M x 3M solar roof, would give great sun protection for the occupant, low mounted batteries for a low centre of gravity and 4 driving wheels for the ultimate traction..... Might tip over in high winds
Can't be too far away
