Death penalty for taking photos in Thailand
If there would ever be a reason for me to actually take a selfie, then with a 737-MAX trying not to nosedive, 20 metres above me.
So to deal with this 'concern' they decide:Phuket authorities have now said they are concerned about safety of people taking these close-up plane pics
"The maximum penalty is the death sentence,"
The situation in St Maarten beach is a lot worse where somebody died because of a low concrete wall in the way when they get blown away from the take off thrust of planes positioned right behind the beach.
However it remains a popular tourist attraction, I hope they removed the wall.
But belonging to a more civilised country they deal with this in a more civilised manner:
Well Thailand is now definitely on my stay-away list of Asian countries.

FMD, how idiotic, the Death Sentence for taking a selfie.... I've seen videos of people hanging off the fence at Maho Beach, some of them are hilarious.

They made an exclusion zone for peoples safety
Yet breaching that zone carries a Max penalty of death.

I guess that's inline with thier drugs policy.

Thats a bit like the old law making it an offence to attempt to commit suicide, the penalty was death......WTF!
