    Default Synology DS418 Streaming

Hi Guys. I have a Synology DS418 using the Video Station to stream to my Telstra TV in the lounge. Due to the Telstra TV being "locked down" I have to use the Roku player software. I would use Plex but from what I have read (and tried) it cant be installed on the DS418 due to the chipset. What I essentially want is to be able to watch media (all the formats....not just some) and see the artwork on the TV via the NAS. Should I buy some other device for the lounge room end or is there another option.

    Thanks
    Chris

i have a qnap similar to the synology setup storing all the media watch
it using a zidoo x9 and is perfect with the media play - music
and can have all artwork etc.

Others here are using the nvidia shield units but it all comes down to
whether you want another device and how much you want to spend.

also another issue you will find with the synology is that if the media has DTS
audio it will not do the audio and will need a separate device that has the DTS
    licensing.

I have noticed the DTS issue. I thought it was the Roku Player. Thanks for the info I will look into the zido.
