When children internalise the message that they are "second-class citizens", the result may be a loss of self-esteem — and that is something that children and society as a whole can ill-afford.

I actually agree with the message that is trying to be conveyed here.
I think a LOT less parents and or parenting methods involve physical altercations now days.
Like everything, there is a line and some people have no idea where that line is.
I do whole hardily agree though, that a person that has suffered physical abuse in the home is more likely to continue or worse, magnify that attitude later in life.
So it something we could all do without.
That goes for some employers too!

Who the f#ck is Patrick Lenta, the whole piece is written in the usual, “if you don’t agree with me, your against me (and wrong)” attitude that leftards have, I have no problem with corporal punishment been administered by parents to their children, to me their is a huge difference between that and abuse.

I was at my local coastal car park over summer, there was some "New Aussie" and his family on the grass, the wife was in the car doing something when all of a sudden the father went ape shit at the 6 year old son for not packing his fishing gear up correctly...
Launched at the kid, grabbing him by the arm so hard and flinging him towards the car with such force i was surprised the kids arms was still attached
Then stood over him giving him some more physical abuse.....

I whacked my kids on the arse when they deliberately crossed lines, but never when I was really angry. And that happened a few times.
