    Default Das Dl-150 ??

    Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone can tell me IF there are still code panels/key pads available for this older DL-150 system board ????

OR a new pad that is compatible with the controller board

Would be fantastic IF someone had a "new" but obviously old stock item on a shelf somewhere..

    any help appreciated.

You'll be pretty lucky to find someone these days that has a brand new one.

    Yes..

very much a long shot , but worth a try.

better than the $700 +/- alternative
update & replace the main parts of the system..

It'll cost you under $300 to upgrade to an NX-8, both DAS so the detectors will have the same EOL, if anything you may need to change a few. But definitely not 700.

If worse comes to worse you could turn a zone into a keyswitch zone and keyswitch it or use an OEM keypad assembly that has a momentary output to activate / deactivate keyswitch zone

How is he to draw a profit from a $300 upgrade?
Do you do your work for free??

Also, all the resistors will need to be changed.
Zone double is required to use all 8 zones on the panel.

Wouldn't you put in an NX16, run a 6 core, and tamper all the pirs on their own zone ?

Now there's no need to be cocky, or do you only quote with smart arsed remarks?

Panel, keypad, markup, labour & gst for under 300. (and possibly battery)
Your losing the plot george or are you operating as a charity or a non profit organisation.

Just clean your old code pad, use an eraser on the PCB contact points and use a small file on the graphite pads on the back of the buttons. Should get a couple of years before you need to do it again. Should give you plenty of time to save for an upgrade.

    Hey you all..

If you happen to look a bit closer to my location & intelliGEORGE's you will notice approx 3000Km's difference +/- a few hundred...

George doesnt say what the $300 covers.. I would assume main board & keypad only as thats all i asked about, at its pointed out that both being DAS systems , most if not all other components would be still useable

So i cant see how "labour" can be included unless he does "FREE" callouts in his private jet..
If he is giving a "ball park figure" on something to give an idea of replacement costs, good luck to him & I wouldnt hold him to any price until all details are covered.

stop giving him the shits & if you dont have anything constructive to say etc ...

    DONT BOTHER AT ALL...

All i'm asking here was a long shot at best .. for an old stock item that I didnt think would be round anyway.. (keypad) trying to max out the DL-150's life

Others have given up some very helpful ideas on getting a few more months / years out of the existing system for my benifit & then consider full upgrade at a later point in time.

rotor138.. Thanks for your input.. have been told Alcohol wipes all over old code pad, and the PCB contact points etc will give a bit extra as well
    (got stacks of them handy)

thanks to all others with possitive input also.

The alcohol wipes don't last as long as using the eraser and small file IMO. Even just use the eraser on the PCB and you'll notice the diference straight away. Be careful with the code pad not to break the tabs off on the bottom as they will be getting quite brittle.

Funny --- Had exactly the same thing happen to me yesterday, client called complained that they couldnt turn the alarm off, I said what type of alarm is it (We dont monitor it, we've never been there, and after all, they are locksmiths, who obviously have been doing there own work, should check there acma licenses hehe, but I digress..) Exactly the same thing, Walked on site, intoduced myself, flashed my sexy new Queensland License, which amused the locksmiths no end, because they thought they dont need one, but again, I digress, and found that I couldnt fault it, scratched my head for a bit while I disassembled the unit, cleaning it down with a damp rag, then wipes, then a little bit of very find grit sandpaper, then the wipes again, and hey presto, still couldnt fault it, I thought it was weird, so went and checked the panel out, Ye olde Nasty Plugpack, opened the panel and the battery wasnt connected, AH I said, put it back in, ran the sirens and strobes for a bit with the meter on amps and then volts, and all was well...

Looks like it had hadnt been touched in years. But the old DL's will continue to go for years, He wanted the keypad changed, but I tried to explain they are as rare as hens teath... he is convinced that you should be able to put a newer keypad on them, I tried to explain that you cant, but hey, customers..
