Default DSC PC2550 always 'off hook'

I have an old DSC alarm panel that uses an analogue line connected via a VOIP adaptor.
Reliability with VOIP wasn't great but seemed to work most of the time.
Recently the monitoring company said there was no communication happening at all.
A couple of days later I noticed that the panel has the VOIP line 'off hook' all the time. If I temporarily disconnect the alarm I can successfully make a call using an analogue handset. Plugging the alarm back in immediately causes it to go off hook. If I listen in with the analogue handset I don't hear anything.

Any ideas what to do next?

You will need a 3G/4G communicator.
Your alarm will not report reliably via VOIP.
Your monitoring company should be able to supply and install it for you and if they support it you should have the added advantage of being able to arm/disarm you alarm remotely after they finish.

From memory, DSC2550 does not support CID.
Best to upgrade panel to one that suits your requirements.
