Warning HP will rip you off with ink cost more than the printer ,service nonexistant
It looks like it is time for me to replace my Samsung Multifunction Colour Laser Printer... ithe one I have here keeps on needing to be reset and now it is getting paper jams
Do we have any users here that can recommend or at least report from their experience, what they have found with branda and models of either Laser or Inkjet Colour Multifunction printers ?
The multinfunction needs to include a feeder and be as compact as possible, approx. 400 x 400 x 350 W, D H respectively

Don't get an inkjet. Blocked nozzles end up costing you the earth trying to fix them. How much do you use it?
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...
i use a fuji xerox multi b& w only
it takes $15 generic inks

I am thinking of this one ...HP LaserJet Pro Colour MFC Printer M181FW
Will do a bit more looking around
A Laser printer is likely to be cheaper in the long run. Consumables are cheaper on an per-page basis and you never get blocked nozzles.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...
Epson MFP always getting nozzles clogged, never again
There is a fine line between "Hobby" and "Madness"

So far about 2 years using an Epson WF-2760 using generic ink cartridges, knock on wood.
Cheap as chips.
I bought it because of the FAX function and it turns out even my neighbour keeps coming over to print things out.
Only problem is my Mac doesn't always pick it up on Wifi.
It is the first inkjet I have been using that actually works past the demo cartridges in the last 15 years.
I have amassed an unbelievable amount of stepper motors and other treasures from slaughtering all the passed away inkjet printers.

It's fairly common knowledge that manufacturers make next to nothing from the sales of inkjet printers.
Instead, they rely on making a profit from the sale of consumables, i.e. ink cartridges.
Some years ago, I did a comparison of the cost of printing a single sheet of text on an inkjet printer versus the cost of printing the same page using a laser printer.
The laser was five times cheaper.
That said, recharging your own inkjet cartridges rather than buying a new replacement, can save you a significant amount of money.
And yes, inkjet nozzles do become clogged, particularly in hot, dry weather.
Tristen, that is not much different to Laser colour printers, just on a much higher level, see above quoted price for the toner.
The demo cartridges supplied with a new Laser printer usually contain a fraction of the toner that comes with the proper replacement cartridges.
It is all a scam.
I still have my old Brother $60 monochrome Laser, that I have successfully refilled with powder a few times.

Last time I purchased a set of toners for my HP cm1312nfi printer they cost me $50 for the set. ie. cmyk. Cheaper than OEM ink cartridges for any printer.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...
I always tell people..
If you use the printer for home use (couple prints a week) I would buy a cheap piece of shit printer and when the ink runs out, go and buy another Cheap piece of shit.
Any brand/model.
With every new machine purchased comes new consumables..
Laser is the way to go if you want reliability.. We sell consumables Genuine and Compatibles if anyone is interested.
Brother laser MFC's are my preferred machine.. good luck.

I've done it.My HP printer needed ink(our daughter is doing the HSC) so I bought another HP printer, used the ink which lasted over a month and still have some colour left so I only had to replace the black. The new printer will go to the Salvos.
