Default Southern Aurora - next 2 nights possible viewing

According to the BoM and other sources, there is an oppertunity to view or at least take a photo of the Southern Aurora around 3 to 5am over the next two mornings....
Cloud cover is in my area currently, but we can only hope....

If u want to go on an expedition get a Land Rover, if u want to come home from an expedition get a Landcruiser!

Thanks OB. Would love to view one day. But you have finally identified a disadvantage to living on the Gold Coast!

I think being able to look at tits in bikinis 365 days a year more than makes up for 2 days of potential aurora australis viewing

Followed the link and Disappointingly seems like Sydney will miss out as well.

I would have got up at 3am to see and Photograph that... if I had gone to bed anyway. Easier for me just to stay up.

Dog wanted to go out about 3am one morning a couple of months ago and while " escorting" her. Happened to see two very bright shooting stars.
Pretty happy to see that, seeing the aurora would be a real thrill.

There is a friend and photographer here that spends hours trying to take a photo of it
I must have made another post about this years gone by, because i remember posting his photos here.

Perhaps don't fell too bad those in the north, we seem to have cloud cover along most of southern Victoria currently

Mate, I hope it clears up for you guys. You deserve some compensation for the relative scarcity of tits in bikinis.

Sadly, according to the last image on that page I am also too far north. If you are in southern Victoria, you might be OK.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

I don't feel so bad about the cloud cover all night
Apparently the magnetic current or what ever it is stayed close to the Antarctic last night, so no sightings even if it was a clear night

Here are some pics from the sub arctic island off Tassie though
