Default Xiaomi Mijia 1080P Home Panoramic WiFi IP Camera

I just ordered one of these from Gearbest and am eagerly awaiting its arrival.

Two questions. Does anybody have one and setting one up under the eaves how does one get power to one about 5mtrs away?

I know it is 5v 1amp micro USB connection but how does this technically challenged idiot do so? Can one buy such a long cable?

    TIA

Pleased to see the camera had arrived in Melbourne yesterday.😀 Now how long Aussie Post takes to deliver to Highett could be another matter. 🤔

I have since discovered the same camera on eBay about a dollar cheaper but from a local Seller. 🤨 (let me know if you want eBay links)

😎 Check out this video from where I bookmarked or watch the whole thing...

Yes it arrived after only 8 days. Easy setup and now waiting for SD card.

Brilliant picture both on Low and High resolution. 🤗

Probably the best night vision I have seen on a digital CCTV camera and I was involved with CCTV systems back in the early 2,000s for a major company. 🤗 I have temporarily set it up on the inside window sill looking down our driveway. Great coverage but come dark IR lights on the camera tend to reflect off the window glass. Last night I positioned it in the lounge looking through to the kitchen. The night vision was spot on! 😎

So best to mount it under the eaves if protected enough from the elements. They are not waterproof! ⛈

Anyway I was that pleased I bought three more off a Melbourne based seller on eBay for $54.95 each delivered.💫 One for me and two for Sparky mate to use at his home whilst he is off OS.

good to see you got it going , with the night vision i have found huge differences
    in brands and reseloution.

i have a 2mp reolink and a 6mp hikevision and its chalk and cheese.

I have a few more 6mp cameras siting here waiting to be installed but have to wait till i get
a few more dollars for the 8mp nvr unit because at the moment i am using my qnap nas and it
only has a 2 camera license

    6mp hikvision

    2mp reolink

Must be me but having no success posting screenshot pic.🤔 Have done so in the past but not having any success at the moment. 😣

Update on three cameras ordered from local eBay seller...

They arrived very quickly and in sealed packagers.

Stupid me accidentally shorted one and blew its power board/circuit. My guess was my USB adaptor that from distant memory had a problem. Seller quickly emailed me a free return label to send it back. I then noticed sellers address was fairly close to me so contacted them and said I would drop off the faulty camera. Went there and walked out with another sealed new camera. Highly recommended sellers. IMO

Installed in my original Gearbest bought camera a 64GB memory card but cannot get camera to recognise it. Will reset everything and also try it in the new camera. Will report back after I do so along with setting up Sparky mate's two cams.

PS: Local bought ones come with manual in English but no USB power adaptor.

Not too bad on a dark dark night and no lighting. The three lights top middle of picture are the cameras IR inbuilt lights(Reflecting off the window inside) but not visible from outside looking at the camera. Great CCTV camera. Estimate a 64GB Micro SD card would store weeks of video.

One tap on the picture hides all that detection info on the bottom of the picture.

The only negative so far is the difficulty I am having setting up the second camera and put that down to me missing something obvious and have put it on hold. Until I get to set up mate's two cameras from scratch. Stand by.

i have had issues with memory cards in the past and actually found that
at times you needed the slower card for it to be recognised and work properly.

This was with my gearbest dashcam

No problems with Class 10 Micro SD card. Tried same one in both cameras. Still waiting for card I ordered at the same time as the Xiaomi camera. Both ordered from Gearbest.
