    hi one and all,

is there anyone out there that knows whether the srp9180 can be set up with front panel programming similar to that of the Moto Xts's.
i have the software and leads, just waiting on a charger to arrive to start playing, but wanted to know which way i should be headed with them.

    many thanks.

I doubt Simoco would have concerned themselves with direct keypad channel programming as they don't attract the clientel that really need it. Moto did it because the fed gov requested/demanded it and they are a large T1 manufacturer with the gear and money to develop it. Most of Simoco's clientel beyond that woeful TETRA is generally smaller companies who pay for a radio shop to sort their needs out for them and is relatively basic gear chasing the lower price to gain more sales.

It's a shame they completely and totally botched P25 as the SRM9k (especially 9022, 9025 and 9030+) are really nice radios with very wide banding on them. An AC and TU will supply all I need but without P25 support for the DMAP in the primary ... nup it's out and their RIDICULOUS laughable price for P25 installa dn their crappy attitude toward those requesting pricing means I'll never deal with them again beyond a simple AC/TU for a simple in the field 2/70 xband transportable repeater. That said Tait aren't much better and lost a good 2 sales from me for TM9400s because they REFUSED to sell software with the radio (already had it anyway) and demanded I travel 100+km every time I wanted to change something and pay for them to change it. Moto in comparison were you have money and the reason what do you want here it is thanks.
