I first scoffed when i heard this.... Thought what a right joke and sure way to go broke
But, with todays drink driving laws and death of the pub as we know it.... And change in youth culture. Perhaps this is an answer?
If u want to go on an expedition get a Land Rover, if u want to come home from an expedition get a Landcruiser!

Sounds like a blast!
The fact that there's a highway to hell and a stairway to heaven says a lot about the anticipated traffic flow.
But, but, but, the driver is the only one that needs to be sober.
So what about the passengers who want a bit of alcohol?
Pub is short for Public drinking place. (infers alcohol)
Any establishment that cant serve alcohol is a Cafe or a Non licensed restaurant/Inn.
Looks like a Cafe to me.

The first beer I ever drank publicly was in a cafe and I just turned 15 y/o.
That was in Germany. Only full strength(and stronger) beer existed back then.
I was probably 40y/o before I tried alc free beer.
Today I still want to drink Beer with cake, not coffee.
Beer goes with everything
I will even drink alc free in the day time but never that ghastly coke stuff.
Actually there was a dark malt beer with very low alc from Holland that tasted fantastic.

Sounds like a business opportunity for OZ. The question is, if it tastes good and the atmosphere is good, does alcohol really need to be included? I like a nice wine, or beer, but, if I can get the same (or better) from a non-alcoholic version why get wasted?
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

Agreed Isemmens, most Pubs are now Gastro Pubs or Basically Restaurant based, its all about the meals now days.
Meals and Gambling and Bottle Shop.
And we are all poorer for the transition. We have all lost the social get together of the Public Bar.
(Or as Tiny says, you have a driver, get a Taxi or essentially its a Cafe)
Hang on now... is this a hidden transition to a Muslim Culture (Tea House)?
There has been a huge swing to mid strength beer in this country
(Mostly by pissheads that now just drink all day) So what happens if you take the alcohol right out of it?
I do think they are up against it, but it will be interesting to see how its received.
Probably just a one visit novelty factor

If I want a beer I'll go to a pub.
If I want a meal and a beer I'll go to a restaurant or a pub.
If I want a meal and no beer I'll go to a restaurant or a pub.
BUT, I want the beer option.
They probably just don't trust each other not to drop the parcel. A blast as I said.
