The software IS region free like HamJammer said. The FIRMWARE is not. If you want to open up LA codeplugs you will need the LA firmware. For EMEA it may depend on the options in the unit. AS reads fine but again the firmware will be needed to update radios.

Just to cover myself. This is still very new so please verify everything and post your results.

    Dear lynt123,

I did a clean install of the CPS 2 software only. i could not open any codeplug. Then I tried to install the firmware packs, it was not possible because it was looking for the "old" CPS. I installed the latest LA version then I was able to open the LA codeplugs bot not the EMEA codeplugs with the new V2 CPS. Then I uninstalled the V16 LA CPS and installed the V16 EMEA CPS, after this I was able to open the EMEA codeplugs but no LA codeplugs with the new V2 CPS.

I am able to open any of the codeplugs in the following directory

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Motorola\MOTOTRBO CPS 2.0\samples

My radio is a XPR7550 with the AS Firmware and the CPS2 reads and writes to the radio with no issues.

I too have been able to read any codeplug (AA) that I have connected to v2.0. I am also doing as HamJammer and using the default paths. I do not have any firmware files installed. I do not think that you need any v1.0 software or files on the computer to use v2.0. All indications are that it is completely a stand alone application.

I confirm that this CPS reads/writes EMEA, NA, and AZ (Asian) codeplugs.
Tested with DM4601e (EMEA), XiR P8661 (AZ) and XPR7550 (NA) transceivers.

Besides this multiregion R/W ability I don't see any serious reason or benefit for upgrading to this version of CPS.

Can someone please upload this to another host provider that doesn't require me to disable half of my adblocking/malware/Pi-Hole protection? I can't get the original link to work at all on FF or Chrome...

    Thanks in advance...

I guess all that will be needed is the firmware files for the regions. These are free with any MOL.

Motorola's new platform for trbo software. It's based off of RM. The end resultis to have more control of dealers with their 3-5 year support model.

Let me see if I understood it correctly, you can install multiple firmware versions for each region and the new CPS would be able to recognize, open do R/W to the radio. Correct? TIA.

Features Not Supported in CPS 2.0
Below is the list of features that were available in MOTOTRBO CPS 1.0 but are not supported in MOTOTRBO CPS 2.0.
MOTOTRBO CPS 2.0 and MOTOTRBO Radio Management Configuration Client cannot open archives or perform operations on radios that are on system release prior to 2.4. If you do not wish to upgrade these radios to a release 2.4 or later please continue to use MOTOTRBO CPS 1.0 to configure them. See Codeplug Version Support for the codeplug versions and radio types MOTOTRBO CPS 2.0 supports.
IP Repeater Programming is not supported in CPS 2.0. For those users who have repeaters on system release 2.10 or greater please use MOTOTRBO Radio Management to perform IP Repeater Programming operations.
Bluetooth programming is not supported in CPS 2.0.
Undoing and redoing radio parameter changes is not supported in CPS 2.0.
CPS 2.0 does not support the ability to drag a set or configuration from one application instance of CPS 2.0 and drop the set or configuration into another application instance of CPS 2.0. Using the copy and paste operations has the same effect as drag drop.
MOTOTRBO CPS 2.0 does no support 3600 Trunking radios or archives. Please continue to use MOTOTRBO CPS 1.0 to configure 3600 trunking radios.
MOTOTRBO CPS 2.0 does not allow the user to generate detailed archive reports or customer handout expanded reports.
At this time CPS 2.0 does not support operations on more than one row element within a List Item Table at a time. Also performing operations on multiple sets at time is not supported.

Multiple firmware versions would let you update any radio from any region. The CPS will already let you edit them.

beg your indulgence for 2 more questions:
    1. Is there a mod to enable the 25khz entitlement for the AA region in this CPS 2.0?
    2. If you write on the CPS 2.0, would it still be possible to open, edit and write using CPS 1.0?

    TIA!
