    Default Clipsal 5400 no heartbeat

    Hi guys,

I have a clipsal 5400 after a small amount of research I notice it's possibly a ness d8 re badged. I've had it for maybe a decade unused bought brand new and have found the motivation to install it. I thought being it's sat around so long I'll power it up on a bench first to make sure it works and connect a few sensors to test etc.

All I have connected is the keypad and the power supply, removed j1 jumper and when powered up the keypad lights up initially with all numbers and symbols etc lighting and then just a blue lit screen.

I have no heartbeat lights and with battery connected, disconnected jumper1 on or off I don't see a heartbeat led or any led for that matter.

I can't push any buttons on the keypad except if I hold down p for time it beeps as cycling through numbers.

Is the unit dead or it's it necessary to connect more to get the heartbeat led.

    Thanks for any help

After power up if the program light is on or flashing, you need to exit program mode by going P and Enter twice.
Otherwise make sure your keypad wiring is correct at panel and keypad.
