Default 10GB Home Network Speed Issues on LaN - Please Help

    Hi there

I currently decided to upgrade my home network with a 10gb switch (Netgear XS508M) unmanaged switch and 2 Asus XG-C100C 10GB network cards.

One of the cards is running in my Ubuntu Server 16.04.6 LTS and the other card in my Windows 7 x64 SP1 machine.

They are connected with cat7 cabling to the switch

When i do a transfer from the server which is raid 0 with 6 x 4tb hdd to my ssd drive on windows machine i get speeds of 500mb and then it slows down to 250 -270 mb and when i transfer from server to a normal 7200rpm drive the speed stays constant around 137mb .

Is there something i am doing wrong or is there additional setting that need to be done. Everything is default at the moment as far as adapter settings go. i have not messed with them yet as am not sure what to change .... that is if i have to change anything .
I have checked the adapter status by going to status on adapter under networking on my windows machine and it shows the 10gb link but am unsure how to check this in ubuntu server via command line

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
