Default IRDETO 2 Compatible DVBS2 Set Top Boxes

    Hi Guys,

I am wondering what DVBS2 Set Top Boxes are IRDETO 2 Compatible and can be obtained easily via ebay or another online store.

I have relatives that might be interested in Subscribing to Mysat which uses IRDETO 2 cards that in their terms and conditions doesn't state any requirement to use their boxes.

One box of interest is the Strong SRT 4950E, It states Multi Cas but doesn't mention IRDETO.

    Thanks in Advance

Exactly which Mysat are you talking about?

There are a few different providers using the name Mysat.

A link to the website would be helpful.

Although there are many decoders capable of working with IRDETO 2, subscription providers often use proprietary encoding, so you would best ask the question of the provider, if ANY IRDETO 2 decoder will work with their service.

According to their website, the STB (and card) is included in the subscription.

I suggest you ask them if third party decoders can be used.

I will contact them to confirm, i'm aware that bundle (as a special offer) does include the STB (and card).

According to their Terms and Conditions under existing hardware

It states: If you already have a Receiver, please ensure that it is an Irdeto 2 Compatible You (or another provider) may supply your own Equipment (or components of the Equipment) to access the Service using the Smart Card, but we will not be liable in any way for your Equipment or Equipment not provided by World Media International.

My main reason i'm asking what easily accessible receivers can use IRDETO 2 cards is to be able to mix other FTA channels from multiple KU band Dishes (Diseqc 1.0 switch) alongside MySat's Paid italian Subscription on IS-19

Multi CAS, MCAS all support Irdeto. I think you'll find any receiver that has a card slot will support Irdeto2.
