    Default Optus D2 - 152.0E

    Hi All

Its seems a lot of feed have disappeared from D2. Up until a couple of weeks a go I was getting up to 3 or 4 horse racing feeds a day, even the odd V8 feed.

Anyone else noticed a difference? Maybe my dish has moved..

There's a lot less horse racing meetings being held compared to a few weeks ago, according to a mate who works on coverage of them.

If you are still receiving some feeds, your dish is probably still OK, but it never hurts to check dish and LNB alignment.

With figures like that, I wouldn't bother.

Yeah you are not alone in noticing that. I’ve got a 1.2mt on D2 and besides the daily ABC Feeds, not much FTA traffic these days. There has been a decline in Horsey feeds, but that could just be seasonal or Sky/Racing.com have employed other methods to send the signal out. IP streaming either via sat or landline is becoming more popular as the technology evolves. There is a lot of 4K stuff on c band sat now that use streaming but the equipment to receive it is so expensive and well beyond a hobbyist budget. Some of it can be resolved with sat cards but then you have the added complication of encryption.

Largely seasonal, as per my earlier post.

My mate who works on the track coverage said its quiet at the moment.

It will certainly pick up coming into spring.

Plugins within Programs like Dvbdream or SmartDvb allow you to explore the transport stream as well as load DVB signals..Crazyscsn or EBSpro are good tools for blindscaning etc.

There is info on the euro forums that can assist you. Nothing is simple but it can be done.
