    Default Ness iComms and NBN

    Hi Guys,

Just gone onto NBN and as I knew it, my Ness iComms App no longer works.
I know its about setting a static IP and that's my limited knowledge.
    I have a DX16 panel with an ELK IP232.
With the IP232 in dynamic mode it see's a generated IP address.
How do I program it to work on a static address?I search in dynamic mode (one flash) and it sees the ELK.
If I highlight the IP address and press config what do I need to put in to IP Address / Subnet mask / Default gateway?
How do I find out the above three numbers please?

When I use ipconfig it says my IP Address is 192.168.XX.XX, DHCP is enabled Yes.
I can change server to change this to a static, but then I'm stuck what to do, please help ;-)

    Cheers,
    Kev

Here's what I know to date.....
Forget what the internet says about your IP Address!!!! It said I had a static IP - NO I DON'T!!!!
The best way to find out is do a "whatismyip.com". This will show you your IPv6, your public IPv4 and your local IP.
Unplug the router, plug it back in and let it boot up.
Run "whatismyip.com" again. If the public IPv4 changes you have a dynamic IP and you need to contact your ISP and ask for a static IP address. This may take a couple of days.

In the mean time, plug the RJ45 in to a LAN port on your nbn router and plug the other end into the ELK IP232 in your alarm panel and turn on it's power.
Launch the IP232 Config Utility and press search. Does it show you any 'found' addresses?
If no - make sure the ELK IP232 is set to dynamic (one flash with the default jumper shorted).
If yes - highlight the Device Name and hit Configure.
"Use a static IP Address" should be 'Bulleted'.
Use IP Address that it's found. (192.168.xx.xx)
    Subnet mask is normally 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway is your router IP (192.168.xx.xx)

"Send" these settings to the ELK IP232"

Add your public static IPv4 address to your iPhone app, use port 2401

Open this port on your router settings.
and test to see if it works ;-)
