Default Gps vehicle tracker in real time

    Hi all.
Just wondering if anybody has any advice on a real time vehicle tracker. A mate of mine wants to know where his car is while his eldest kid is out and about so I assume that if he wants to know where he is in real time then the tracker will need to have a prepaid SIM card?

Does anybody have any GPS tracker recommendations or other suggestions? Prefebly something small he can hide in the engine bay and I can connect it to 12v if needed. Ive seen some rechargable units which can be attached to somewhere on the car using a magnet for sale on ebay but not sure what they're like.

    Any advice appreciated

    Cheers

I got mine from eBay 2 years ago it was $79 now $85 Search 3G GPS Tracker. I use a OPTUS prepaid sim as you can get 12 month expiry.

Use's a app to track or you can login from a pc it will show the curent location direction of travel and speed via google maps. You can set a geofence or over speed alert as well as I think 3 month log as well

A quick check now shows I am 27m from car and ing is off and main batt conected but as it's in garage with tin roof that's not bad. It has a battery backup but not sure on how long for but it can alert you if the battery is disconected

    Cheers

Thanks for that. I don't think the dead point accuracy is a concern, I think he just wants to know where he is because hell go out during the week and get home late.

Thanks. I'm a bit confused but that's normal these days.

I was going to buy this and have just asked the seller a question if it will work with an Australian SIM card.
