Received a renewal notice for my business name today.
It was not from ASIC.
It was from REGISTRY AUSTRALIA Pty Ltd.
Address on the envelope PO BOX 13267 LAW COURTS VIC 8010.
After sprouting that they should do this for you, they then put a disclaimer at the bottom of the page.
Quote : This is not a renewal notice issued by ASIC. Registry Australia is a third party provider of Business names.
You are not required to pay any money.
Slease bags.

That is an oldie but a goodie. Usually seen with "listings" in useless scam "Directories" these scumbags are obviously branching out.

This is an oldie, I think it will actually result in your business name being renewed, but they charge you 2 - 3 times as much as ASIC would and keep the change.
They do the same thing with domain renewals., It sucks that we have to spend so much energy being on the guard for scams like this. grrrrrr, they make the letter so realistic and usually coincide it with an upcoming expiry (which is public knowledge), they get in before ASIC send out their reminders.
I looked into this a long time ago and while it is totally a scam, it's not illegal. It's basically a fee for service deal. not illegal but completely immoral.

Given the postal address, it look like even more of a scam.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

So are you going to send them some false business names and details for shits and giggles?
Youseff's Halal intimacy products.

Yes I am an agent of Satan, but my duties are largely ceremonial.
Eventually got the ASIC Renewal. $84.00 for 3 Years instead of their price of $199.00
Nice if people go with them.

I had two NBN Scams today, they were Both different Fu!@#%$^&*( )$#@ Sick of them. Tell me what happens if you PRESS 1, can I string them along for 10 minutes until they mention you card details then let lose on them.
NO Private Numbers used, They rang, the Phone showed PRIVATE NUMBER, I Answer the Phone, Recorded Message in Australian lingo then I hang up, then the second call I answered 2 hours later I answered a few seconds of recording and the dude took over was Indian Accent then I hang up on the dick head.
I think this was the scams they were trying to sell to me.
1/ Someone pretending to be from NBN Co or an internet provider calls a victim and claims there is a problem with their phone or internet connection, which requires remote access to fix. The scammer can then install malware or steal valuable personal information, including banking details.
2/ Scammers pretending to be the NBN attempting to sell NBN services, often at a discount, or equipment to you over the phone.
I had one the other day, recorded message, my internet was going to be disconnected in 1 Hour. Press 1 If I wanted to talk to someone to stop the disconnection, press 2 if I wanted it to be disconnected. I pressed nothing and after about 10 sec the call disconnected. I got it a few more times but then it stopped.
My friends 84 Yo mother has fun with them. Strings them along as a game to see how many minutes she can score. She does everything they tell her to do until at some point they ask her if she is logged onto the net or it it is working and she tells them she doesen't have internet, just a computer.
they must think they have got a good score when they get an old lady doing everything they tell her till she tells them she has no internet.
