And here I was thinking that drop bears were about the size of their distant cousin, the cuddly Koala.

Was the bear carrying a box of match's @ the time ??
How will the deputy bear the shame of totaling a perfectly good cruiser ??

I had a friend of a friend from the states terrified a few years ago when he came here telling him about Drop Bears.
Mate told me he nearly cancelled his outback tour because I put the wind up him so bad. I discovered when you tell a story about man eating Koala's and then down play it by saying hardly anyone dies of them these days, the yearly death toll is well under 50 now, most years, don't worry, You'll be right as long as you be careful where you eat and look up a lot, and don't whatever you do fart, It's more scary than if you keep telling them how dangerous they are!
The in the storycop was lucky. Friend of mine was travelling on a country road not far from their home and a horse Bolted out on the road. It turned at the last second but came through the windscreen arse first and of course proceeded to thrash around before falling back out. Friend and her husband were left in a very bad way with head and upper body injuries from the thing kicking them.
They survived with out any permanent injuries other than mental ones but Physically both of them were touch and go for a few days. Took them both over a year to recover properly though just from the physical injuries.
Like one of those things you read about, the horses owner lodged a claim for compensation for the loss of the horse which was there when they got home from Hospital.
Suffice to say, thankfully it didn't get far at all.
Forget the drop Bears -
