Default Bob Brown, Nimby And Hypocrite.

Took the ABC a while I see.

Too much of the green coolaide....

It must be an ill wind that blows Brown’s ideals away MAURICE NEWMAN

While it took almost two weeks for the ABC to finally acknow#ledge it, former Greens leader Bob Brown is campaigning against the proposed Robbins #Island mega-wind farm to be built in northwestern Tasmania. He says it will spoil views and kill birds.

Who knew?

Brown believes the plan is visually a step too far. He says: “Mariners will see this hairbrush of tall towers from 50km out to sea and elevated landlubbers will see it, like it or not, from greater distances on land.”
Read Next

He argues the public has not been properly informed of the private deals, or public impacts, or cost-benefit analyses of what would be one of the world’s biggest wind farm projects. Nothing new here. This is the world that for decades Brown and his global-warming acolytes have mercilessly inflicted on others.

Time will tell whether his campaign to defeat the Robbins Island development is successful. If he fails, those “mariners” and “elevated landlubbers” will face the same desecrated land and seascapes that thousands of rural Australians live with every day.

Those residents mainly live in more densely populated areas than Robbins Island. They too opposed wind farms, only to #receive for their troubles lectures from ideologically driven bureau#crats. They were told to accept the developments “for the greater good” and “if we have enough wind, we won’t need coal”. Environmental desecration was simply “collateral damage”.

When some suffered sleep deprivation from audible and inaudible turbine noise, ministers and public servants told them their symptoms were “imagined”. When they turned to the medical profession for help, both the Australian Medical Association and the National Health and Medical Research Council claimed they had found no “consistent evidence” of a connection. Victims argued the research was shoddy and biased.

As a consequence many affected residents remain trapped in unsaleable homes and seek temporary palliative refuge. Some have abandoned their farms. Still others have taken their lives.

As CD Hanning and Alun Evans wrote in the British Medical Journal in 2012: “The onus of proving safety falls on those introducing new forms of environmental pollution, including noise pollution, not on those exposed to the pollutant. A major principle of public health medicine is prevention.” In Australia, that principle doesn’t apply. Even the World Health Organisation now includes wind turbine noise as a source of potential health #impacts.

The Australian’senvironment editor, Graham Lloyd, has revealed multiple examples of the wind industry’s environmental double standards. He reports how wind industry consultants have told farmers to illegally drain wetlands “so brolgas would not return to nest”, how the impact on birdlife has been greatly understated and how conniving Greens “are condoning the #destruction of wetlands, native vegetation and, native species, just so wind farms can be built”. Compared with their never-ending campaign to save the black-throated finch from the proposed Adani coalmine, this is surely the last word in hypocrisy.

Clive Hambler, a respected British ecologist, sees big wind’s behaviour as a global issue. He says the wind industry is “devastating populations of rare birds and bats across the world, driving some to the point of extinction”. He claims “the public is not more aware of this carnage because the wind industry (with the shameful complicity of some ornithological organisations) has gone to great trouble to cover it up — to the extent of burying the corpses of victims”.

Hambler should have added complicit governments to his list. As Democratic Labour Party senator John Madigan told parliament in 2013: “The large-scale wind energy industry is being #allowed to do what it likes, where it likes, in Australia. Wind energy should be a tale of positive action and change. Instead, the real story is one of regulatory failure, harm to local residents, environmental damage, wrongly issued renewable energy certificates and a discredited RET system.”

It’s true. Big wind has become the ultimate haven for the world’s rent seekers. It has forged close relationships with global warming activists. Its government connections have allowed flawed and conflicted environmental impact statements to pass without challenge. It promises employment and delivers little. For years, non-compliant wind farm operators have pocketed consumer and taxpayer subsidies.

It took the blackout of 850,000 South Australian homes and businesses for the authorities to finally bring proceedings against a number of wind energy producers for allegedly failing to ensure their power plants complied with basic performance #requirements.

Universally, the government-wind coalition has a dubious reputation. It has been rocked by scandals, such as the €110 million paid in commissions to Spanish government officials. Similar corruption has been found in France and the US. It has covered up life-threatening turbine accidents, environmental damage and erased damaging health data. Yet, despite its best efforts, this coalition seems to be losing control of the agenda. Last year, growth in worldwide wind capa#city stalled.

Prominent among the reasons is the legal action of wildlife and forest conservationists who, like Brown, are fighting new wind farms. They can no longer ignore the impact on endangered bird species, bats and even insects. Their intervention has coincided with a growing political backlash as the economic cost, poor #reliability and emerging health issues associated with wind are gaining the attention of voters.

Suddenly, previously taboo questions are being heard. For example, are the emissions #released in the building and #installation of turbines ever really offset? Given their major impact on bird mortality and possible links to childhood leukaemia, should the spread of overhead powerlines be limited? And with an estimated 43 million tonnes by 2050 of unrecyclable blade waste, who will pay the cost of #decommissioning?

Brown and his fellow travellers are beginning to learn that “grief still treads upon the heels of pleasure”.
The fact that there's a highway to hell and a stairway to heaven says a lot about the anticipated traffic flow.

There is nothing in this world that does not come at a cost of some kind.

Even "protecting the environment" carries a price-tag with it. And I don't just mean money-wise.

And like the huge surprise hotel bill that catches you totally unawares, the costs of whatever endeavour only become clear after the fact.

Hindsight is great, pity it only comes afterwards though.

True freedom is the greatest gift a man can possess, yet is the one thing most easily and innocently given away, to crafty curses and binds cleverly disguised as blessings and gifts, in the pursuit of supposed achievement, status and power.

A very one sided piece of journalism - emphasis on journalism.
If Australia is a democracy why, then, is voting compulsory?

The damage to the environment and the health effects on people are well known in Europe with several large cases going against wind farm operators.
Actual Installs of Turbines in Eurpoe have decreased significant'y in the last 3 years because of the awareness and the public outcry against them.

Like everything else green and environmental, The unflattering truth is hidden and flat out Lied about when questioned and the Benefits are completely over hyped and blown out of proportion.
The green washed are so hell bent on their cause they will do anything to push it including and not the least bit worried about doing harm and going against the very Principals of what they are supposedly pushing for.

Nothing alters the fact that he is going against almost everything he has preached. His reasons for opposing it are the same reasons he repeatedly ignores from other people.

ergo.....hypocrite.

He doesn't like the view in his own territory.

ergo.....nimby.

Oh! The ABC says virtually the same thing. It's just that it took them ages to acknowledge that one of their green false gods is basically, a tool.

The fact that there's a highway to hell and a stairway to heaven says a lot about the anticipated traffic flow.

In the interest of balance, the response:

Bob Brown
The Robbins Island wind farm debate

The Australian moved in for the kill last week. Back-to-back front pages, on Monday and Tuesday, after I sounded the alarm about the impact on endangered birds if the Robbins Island wind farm in Tasmania’s north-west goes ahead. Backed up by the usual cronies at Sky News, the boilover raised a question about the impending extinction of measured public debate.

Even if all this were proven to be moot points, these things have to be one of the most hideous creations/monstrosities ever created by mankind. It is the ugliest sight when standing atop a mountain road viewpoint, looking down over rolling green hills or plains lying in-front of you, and then suddenly you look slap bang into a whole lot of huge white fans up in the air on long white poles. You can see these things from probably 100km away already. Talk about an eyesore.

Yeah...can't say I'd want one in my backyard.....but then a coal-fired power station ain't exactly the Mona Lisa either

I know to green people what I'm about to show is probably considered blasphemy, and I will be promptly gutted-and-quartered, but:

This relatively small building is called the Koeberg nuclear power station near Cape Town, and it basically powers the entire city and its surrounds (about 1 M households now). If you're driving in the area, and you don't look for it, you'll probably miss it.

The solutions have been around since the 80's. Green has been totally blown out of proportion, and has become a political tool now more than anything else, hasn't been about the earth/environment anymore for the last 20 years.

Edit: should have added -- and corporate tool along with political tool.

There is a running joke among Wind Farm workers.... "We've saving the planet"
As they drain out 900 litres of coolant, 100's of litre of hydraulic fluid and a 200 litres of gear box oil, per turbine, per service.
Macarthur Wind Farm has 140 turbines... and that is just one farm.

I don't think you're being entirely accurate when you say that only green people (sic) would take umbrage at your suggestion of nuclear power.

Don't know if you've ever hear of a bloke called Ziggy Switkowski.....he is nuclear physicist by profession, and a highly respected member of the Australian business community......not exactly Bob Browns' philosophical fellow traveller.

No investment appetite for nuclear: Switkowski

Dr Ziggy Switkowski, who wrote a comprehensive review of nuclear power for the Howard government in 2006, said if there were a favourable investment climate, the era had passed for the construction in Australia of a large nuclear power station, defined as one that would generate a gigawatt, or 1000 megawatts of electricity.

Dr Switkowski said the future for nuclear power was in small modular reactors, similar to those that power submarines and icebreakers and which generate up to 100 MW of power.

Here is his bio:

There are many genuine concerns in all levels of society about nuclear power......such as cost of construction, cost of operation, end-price of product (electricity), consumption of water, and not least, disposal of waste - Plutonium-239 has a half-life of 24,000 years - want that buried in your backyard?

The one haunting thought that I have whenever nuclear power plants are mentioned, is a quote from John Glenn, the American astronaut:

“I guess the question I'm asked the most often is: "When you were sitting in that capsule listening to the count-down, how did you feel?" Well, the answer to that one is easy. I felt exactly how you would feel if you were getting ready to launch and knew you were sitting on top of two million parts -- all built by the lowest bidder on a government contract.”

― John Glenn

The thing I find most disconcerting about this entire power-generation debate is that all discussion is focused around supply, supply, supply....you never hear anybody talking about demand....like, how about we talk about using less of the damn stuff....that surely must go hand-in-hand with the supply dilemma.

I don't know about South Africa, but here in Australia we used to build houses with eaves, verandahs, high-peaked roofs, and flow-through designs - all adaptations to our harsh, hot climate.....now we just build concrete boxes and slap a 20hp air conditioner in them....and they all have a black roof, to boot.

In the end run though.....it doesn't matter whether you use solar, wind, coal, tide, geothermal, or nuclear.......you're never going to want to hang a picture of it in your lounge room.

Yes, the idea of going "modular" in nuclear is the future. Indeed, these current nuclear power stations' technologies as I mentioned are from last century.

It would be nice if we could scale electricity generation to the desired scale -- whether household on the one extreme or heavy industry on the other. You would also match supply with demand much more closely that way, I think at least.

But, therein lies the problem for the power-hungry, corrupt and greedy among us. How are they going to get what they want when everybody is given so much independence?

The people taking care of themselves? We can't have that now can we.

I have said this before, yes, there are many problems in the world, but for every problem there is always a very good solution. It's just human nature, we are creative and innovative, we can't help it.

But, our latest creation is a disaster which overshadows all of our other achievements -- we have managed to cultivate a society where instead of being solved, problems are turned from molehills into mountains, and are exacerbated to such an extent that the whole world has gone "nuts".

There exists a genuine and literal war on problem-solving, you see it everywhere.

It's like a shot, wounded man running into the hospital emergency room, desperately seeking a doctor to do something immediately, and instead is told go into another room where a crack team of psychiatrists are waiting for him -- to tell him about the dangers of going to night-clubs at night, the PTSD effects of being shot at and the trauma of staring down a gun-barrel, another arranging an AA meeting for him to deal with his alcohol problems that lead to this foray into the night-club, another one demanding a test of his blood to see if there are drugs in it before making any professional decision, another one wanting a full background history to piece together the puzzle of why this man chose this particular night to go in there -- all this when all you needed was an ER doctor, a nurse, a pair of tweezers, stitches and 5 minutes work.

I know I seem like an angry and frustrated person, but wouldn't any normal, rational person be if they had to constantly bear witness to this absolute craziness and ridiculousness that has gripped even the most intellectual among us?

I can't tell how many times I've watched the news over the last few years and found myself increasingly asking WT actual F by the day.

I know I can't speak for other people, and I know I'm not always stable myself, but I like to consider myself just an "ordinary guy". And like I said I know I can't speak for others, but I'm pretty sure many would agree that the "ordinary" normal, sane, rational people are just so sick and tired of all the crazy BS that is being passed off as the new normal nowadays, when it should never even have seen the light of day.

We are tired of hearing about evil coal, uranium, oil and gas, evil plastic, our evil cars and eating our very evil meat and that we should "know better" and about how a glorified internet search-engine inventor wants to build a self-driving plasma-powered strap-on rocket pack and how this is the new car of the future and how we can eat vegetables with lawn-cuttings that were modified in the lab to taste like meat or what the hell ever. And how someone is born with a penis and balls but is actually a woman and it's my fault for not wanting to accept it and I should allow it into the women's bathroom now, and somehow through all of this I am a racist.

I'm tired of the fog. The fifty shades of grey. I liked the world when it was still binary, black and white, and you could look at something, and say, it just needs a bit of this or a bit of that to restore it again.

The sooner people work out that Globull warming, the environment and the whole Green washing thing is nothing but a money making excuse for big biz and gubbermints, the quicker we can put this complete and utter bullshit behind us and get on with addressing real issues that all this green crap serves to distract us from.

I might be in the minority here, but. I agree, in most cases Nuclear should be the preferred option for base load, In some, tidal power can work. To me, the wind farms can only be used as a "top up" i.e. if there is no wind..... Whilst I agree that, visually, wind farms can be distracting, A paint job can easily fix that. The land up to and around the base of the tower is still usable, so their only real impact is the oil as mentioned above. Solar on every building should be a standard, We already have ugly roofs on houses, so solar ain't going to be any uglier. Again, it won't carry all the base load, but it can be used as an adjunct. should be our next power generator with coal and oil coming last.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

There is a very obvious reason for that, it's because this whole Green save the planet co2 thing is a complete and utter crock of shit.
It's all about Money. There is no money for Gubbermint or Big biz in reducing consumption of anything. They want to be seen to be taking the moral high road by the sheeple while actually doing what gets them the most profits and revenue. How people don't get that and see through the Ruse escapes me.

If they wanted to really do something for the planet, they would be putting money into ensuring every home rooftop was covered in panels rather than ploughing Hundreds of millions into subsidies into solar farms that are hundreds of KM away from where the power is used and then spending Billions on more desecration with transmission lines running everywhere.

Putting panels on every rooftop would greatly reduce consumption from the grid but it would also reduce Revenues and that is the deal breaker right there.
It's all well and good to be Green and environmental and all that feelgood noble excuse to ride on the back of to greater profits but the second there is a reduction in Revenue, No freakin way do they want to know about it.

100% unreliables is a complete and utter joke. Maybe 50% would be very doable though. Keep the coal fired power stations and Idle them on the good days and run off the soalr input from rooftop PV. Ramp the coal stations up on the bad days and at night. Easy, practical, logical. Also unthinkable to the green religious zealots and those that stand to loose from such a workable solution.

The Green, co2 save the planet crap is the biggest scam ever played on man kind. Not because the ideal is wrong but rather the way it is bastardised at every turn for profit over and above all else. Anyone that honestly thinks grid scale batteries are going to be viable anytime in the forseeable future is a moron. Pretty much any storage on a grid scale is going to be good for a few hours at best. Using the best of both worlds would allow emissions reductions and still maintain a reliable, affordable and practical power system. That wouldn't make as much profit and revenue as the hairbrained doomed to failure Bullshit they are trying to con people with now.

Just beggars belief how so many fall for it and don't see right though the whole con job!

Exactly, why is a government going to allow people to go ahead and find solutions that at the same time will make the need for them redundant? They need people to have problems so they can stay in business.

I've always said a government is no different than a large company. And judging by the rule of thumb that the larger the company usually the more corrupt they are -- here we are talking about the largest company (and by extrapolation then the most corrupt) in any single country. Furthermore, unlike a normal company that can go bankrupt or have to close when they run out of money (and we are finally rid of the bloodsucking leech), when this juggernaut starts losing money, they just take more from you to keep themselves alive, whether you like it or not, because you will always fall under them!

People say yeah nuclear power stations are now no longer viable, well, that's because the conniving crafty bastards have dug in heels, counteracted and stalled long enough so that there was never a chance to go ahead and build the things. If you started in the 90's and ignored the hype and hysteria of 1986, you'd have the things now and they would have paid for themselves already. Now it's too late.

LSemmens and George who mentioned it are right on the money about burning the rubbish. I've spoken to people before who told me in private that burning normal polyethylene bags for fuel for example is one the cleanest, most efficient sources of energy there is. Gone is your plastic in the sea problem too.

And I know I've said it before but I'm going to say it again, there have been countless solutions invented to remove CO2 effectively. Yet, they still don't really see the light of day. They are done here and there half-heartedly, and you get the feeling just so that it can appease some of the critics to show "What do you mean? Look, we are doing it, but it's not really working."

Given all this, how am I then supposed to respect or take this green thing seriously when the people in charge have turned the whole thing into a circus side-show complete with freaks talking out their arses?

Whether this climate and environment problem is real or not is irrelevant -- mankind has always been presented with challenges (i.e. opportunities in disguise). Here, mankind was presented with a very nice and engaging challenge. And this challenge in particular was the greatest opportunity for mankind to showcase what it was capable of. Not so much because it had to, but because it just could. Like people have said before "I do it because I can." We didn't have to invent cars or electricity, or computers, but we did anyway.

Point is, this time mankind failed. Miserably. Not because it did not have the creativity, the knowledge or the tools or talents to tackle it, but because it chose to come up with excuses instead to ignore the solutions right in-front of it and just pretended like it was doing something about the problem.

If you don't want to take on a challenge, then say no from the start. If you do want to take on a challenge, then put everything into it. In both cases, you will be respected by whomever presented you with it.

But don't be a poser/actor/charlatan, trying to dazzle people with footwork, hide the banana BS. Don't waste someone's time. Nobody respects a person like that.

True freedom is the greatest gift a man can possess, yet is the one thing most easily and innocently given away, to crafty curses and binds cleverly disguised as blessings and gifts, in the pursuit of supposed achievement, status and power.

How's this for a thought. How the F does NASA power their spacecraft a gazillion miles from the sun? They certainly do not need a Gigawatt of power to drive their boxes, some of those technologies should be transferable to daily use. (Note: This is a thought bubble, and may not be useful, or practical, I'm just too lazy to look it up right now).
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

I am against Nuclear power for 2 Reasons:
1, The technology and safety is irrelevant. It's run by those same corrupt, greedy corner cutting bastards who's actions have been responsible for every Nuke accident that ever occurred. There will always be some shortcut taken, some cost cutting measure and some circumvention of procedure to save a Buck. Nuke is simply too powerful a force for Humans with all their weaknesses to be playing with and especially trying to make a buck out of.

2. They are NOT cost effective at all. That is white washing to say they are cheap ( and clean) . If one looks behind the industry Rhetoric, one of the most corrupt industries out there I might add, it is very clear to see when all the real costs are taken into account, they are Hugely expensive.

3, To create a waste as deadly, long Lived and with no real solution to it's disposal like nuke waste and then call it clean is the greatest hypocrisy of all time.
The whole green Bullshit it to leave the planet in good nick for future generations but Nuke proposes we will also leave them with hundred's of thousands of Tonnes of unimaginably toxic poison For which there is no remotely viable way to make it safe.

I am thankful I don't have to even think about a reactor being built in OZ. It would take 20 years to get the thing off the ground at best and by then we will have built something else or learned to go without. The cost to build one reator would be more than any Gubbermint would be willing to take on and more than the country can afford. the sensible option for oz is to go at least another 2 decades on coal then we'll have a look at what is viable.

LSemmens and George who mentioned it are right on the money about burning the rubbish.
The thing is in Oz we are terribly ignorant.
This has been done for decades in other countries and is a well developed technology but because it does not fit the whingers ideals, we hang out for a perfect solution while continuing with the worst possible practices.
Plastic is oil basically. it CAN be burned clean, done it myself, made the Video. On an industrial scale the tech is well and truly out there but hell forbid we should burn something and make some C02, Better to bury it all and let it make the co2 slowly and don't recover anything else... not that anything is done with anything bar the metal anyway.

Given all this, how am I then supposed to respect or take this green thing seriously when the people in charge have turned the whole thing into a circus side-show complete with freaks talking out their arses?
I don't and I can't see how anyone with a brain can! It's nothing but a money making scam and in years to come will be shown to be and looked at as a laughing point of humanity's stupidity. You won't be able to find one single Softcock who will admit they believed and argued for it, like the liars they are already well iknow to be they will deny they ever believed in any of it for a second Once it goes from the sheeple approved to scorned.

Whether this climate and environment problem is real or not is irrelevant
Exactly. it's been so corrupted and bastardised in the name of profit the only truth now is no one could tell for sure WTF is happening. The alarmism gets worse every month with idiots calling for " Emergency climate action" and "Desperate measures have to be taken Now". I want everyone put on a for and against list. When it proves to be a crock of shit then all the cocksure whingers can sell up everything they won and pay back those that told them it was a crock all along for the costs of their stupidity and frustration caused. If it goes the other way then the disbelievers get to pay for their ignorance. I'm happy to be the one at the top of the " It's a crack of shit list."
Point is, this time mankind failed. Miserably.
They failed all round on this issue because it was a noble caused bastardised beyond recognition by greed and corruption.

But don't be a poser/actor/charlatan, trying to dazzle people with footwork, hide the banana BS. Don't waste someone's time. Nobody respects a person like that.
What constantly amazes me and give me pleasure rubbing the the most outspoken green zealots Noses in it is that although I think this is all a pathetic joke, I have yet to meet one green nutter that does more for " The environment" and is more Green than me.

I have been running my Vehicle for 16 years come this october on renewable fuel in the form of Veg oil. It was all the rage when I started, now there are a handfull of people doing it. Those of us who said we were doing it for the cost savings got our arses handed to us by the green High and Mighty but those Pieces of whining crap were the first to bail on it all soon as they got their hands dirty and another flavour of the month topic came up at their inner shitty cocktail parties.
The only ones still doing it were the " Environmental Terrorists" that were doing it for the money.

None of these whingers have near the amount of panels I do on my roof or come near being self sufficient in power. Most of them have a 3 or 5 Kw array and think they have single handedly saved the world. I used to be on an alternative energy forum that got taken over by the green goobers. The admin was a pasty little inner city trendy that pushed the green agenda down everyone throats but was the ultimate hypocrite.
Made such a fuss when he was able to put all of 4 , yes, 4 Panels on his inner city block of units to HELP power his home.... that had every modern convinence known to man.

He came up with this software that when coupled with the right hardware, would discharge a Laptops battery back into the grid at night so the coal fired power stations wouldn't have to run so hard. I couldn't believe it but he was all over it. Did projected figures on yearly laptop sales and if just one years worth of owners did this how much power could be saved. You would be forgiven for thinking he cured cancer the way he went on... right till some bastard, that would be me, gave him a reality check.
I said forget about the control hardware and the energy resources and emissions in creating all those. Lets look at how much power is used in the evening period and compare that to the best possible scenario of everyone of the last years laptop buyers participating. Lets forget about the losses and inefficiency of the laptop chargers. Lets forget the round trip inefficiency of discharging and recharging the battery. Lets forget about the fact the extra cycling would shorten the battery life and require more frequent replacement which a lot of people may just scrap the machine for and create increased E waste. Forget how many people would want to recharge their machine first thing in the morning when it was peak period with no solar online so they could use it on the way to work or at a meeting or whatever.

Best I could figure On straight up impossible scenario numbers between power available and power used is that the idea would save about 1/17,000th of the nightly grid usage in the UK where he lived.
Didn't the guy get the shits! I said if there is something wrong with my Numbers, correct them and point out where you get said numbers from.
Of course never did but sooked endlessly about me not basically being a green Koolaide drinker.

His previous save the world idea had been to circulate HOT water in the pipes round houses constantly so when you turned on the hot water you didn't waste that Litre of water waiting for it to heat up. And, ummm, putting the thermal losses aside which would make the heater work all that harder, exactly how much power is that pump going to use running 24/7 or even normal waking hours to save what, Maybe 4 L of water a day, tops?

They are unreal.
When I see one of these green whingers that Impresses me by actually DEMONSTRATING they practice what they preach and live up to their cult like standards, I will listen to the rarest person on the face of the earth with great interest and respect.

For the rest, heard it so many times before and seen the Hypocrisy I won't waste my time on them any more.

I guess each generation has to have one.

Remember snake oil, and what was that Radon kettle/urn thing they had which made healing radioactive water that was supposed to heal all kinds of ailments? Oh yes, and radioactive toothpaste.

At least we can say we lived in a period that made the history books.

Another one in my opinion will be social media and the undying craving to share every aspect of your waking life with strangers (including unhinged psychopaths and perverts).

-----

To me these green people are what I've always believed them to be, they are all bark and no balls. When you challenge them by saying OK, I have a solution, let's fix it right now, they backpedal and come up with a thousand different excuses.

It reminds me of this guy in the pub one night that couldn't leave me alone. His girlfriend had been staring at me and when I looked away from her she decided to concoct a story that outside I had said something to her an hour or so ago. He kept coming up to me asking if I did this and did that and did I say this and did I say that, until I had enough and I slammed my beer down on the table, jumped up from my seat and said to him, OK, why don't we go and discuss this further outside where nobody else can see us. I've never seen a guy get chilled and backpedal so much in my life. He assured me that it was a huge misunderstanding and smiled and laughed and offered to buy me another beer. I said it's OK, don't worry, but just leave me the F alone from now on so that I can drink my beer in peace.

They are this way because they have been influenced by, and I hate to bring this up again, the woman's way of thinking. Men are logical, binary, black and white and is what you need when trying to fix problems. It's either positive or negative, black or white, hot or cold, true or false, 1 or 0, on or off, yes or no and in the end, right or wrong. Cross the blue and red wires and kaboom -- it's a disaster. Women we have learnt by now like to think in the fifty shades of grey, you can't give a right or wrong answer, it's how you feel at that moment. Now that's great in the bedroom, but not when you're operating a digger, assembling a nuclear plant or trying to solve a global crisis.

And in the middle of a war you have two options, you either press the big red button or you don't. There is no time to sit and worry about a million different things and how you feel, whilst bombs are raining down on you.

If this excessive amount of CO2 is the problem, there are numerous solutions that will remove a lot of it in a very short period of time. The annals of chemistry studies are filled with hundreds of them, so why don't we see them being employed?

Because it's nicer to exacerbate a problem, blow it out of proportion, and then get paid to whine about it in newspapers and on TV, or to pay huge amounts of money to snake-oil salesmen for so-called solutions. Or better yet, base an entire political career on it.

This problem exists solely because the world is in a state where they need it to exist. Without it, 90% of these people who like to talk and sell BS would be irrelevant, and most importantly, make no F money.
