This has little to do with our Education department pushing anything.
It is (as usual) all about Google becoming even more prevalent. They will not supply Google Classroom for general Linux distros.

Schools are actually encouraging parents to purchase Chromebooks, not Windows PCs for E-classes.
Chrome OS is a Linux distro from Google.
Agree with you but observe that most teachers look at you with a blank face when you talk of linux distros

That is only because no one had bothered to teach the teachers about anything other than Windwoes and Hackinslosh
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

It might surprise you that some do, obviously out of own interest but when my older son did IT classes at high school, guess what OS they started with?

BTW you need to be mostly quite advanced to "Hackinslosh" a PC, and nice term, sounds original.

Macs are for those who don't want to know why their computer works.

Linux is for those who want to know why their computer works.

DOS is for those who want to know why their computer doesn't work.

Windows is for those who don't want to know why their computer doesn't work.

Saw this interview with Lunus Torvalds today. It's interesting how Linux came about.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

Not so much about Linux but Linus's personality.
Watching this was like looking at a mirror for me, minus his abilities of course but I could fix the pot hole

Digital Social Networks were created by nerds for nerds so they don't have to see and verbally talk to each other but can still communicate about code, Linux, engineering, etc..
Then the commoners came and ruined it all.
