Default Reccommend an IP camera - dome type

Any ideas of an IP camera to look for... Ive tried ebay and all the chinese imports, and while I can find a cheap camera - I can never find a dome version.

Yes - I do want a cheap one, and I know of the quality etc.... But I cant justify a $1K camera, a few hundred dollars is fine.

    What I am looking for;

    - An IP camera (I dont want to convert an analogue etc...)
    - Dome housing - not neccessarily waterproof - it will be mounted outdoors, but under an eave.
    - I do not want or need PTZ

And I have found a couple of items that fit that criteria, but they have strange web hosting packages on board the chips... I dont mind having the intelligence to mark movement areas, automatically update a ftp server or send email etc... But I do want one that I can browse the jpg image via something like

Anybody have any clues on where to look / brand / contacts etc...

    Thanks in advance

Yep - priced for the market - should be no reason they are this expensive... but they are....

I was hoping for around the $300 mark - as I am wanting 6 or 8 of the buggers... I;ll just keep looking, or buy less of them.

Dealextreme gets network and usb cameras completely confused - nothing there that I am looking for.

I emailed the seller of this one on ebay - - and I got hold of the manual... As it says mpeg4 and jpeg still - I assume that it will do it. (And the price is right for me). However having 3 led's showing on the outside of the unit would be ugly to me...

Picky aint I !!! I suppose there is always side cutters to the anode of the led - LOL !

To me a dome should more like this - - however this item mentions nothing about jepg and it does not support D1 resolution.

And this one has the resolution, mentions nothing about jepg stills.

Of course - I emailed the vendors of these items and got absolutely no reply - typical of a hong kong store just pushing goods out the door.

Keep trying I guess - or just take a chance... Maybe I'll go look at some USA stores and see if I can find anyone there with some interesting goods and knowledge...

(fills in the day - researching again)

you might try DAS in Coburg, sometimes they have a bargain bin with cameras in it.
