Default Aldi 65" TV on sale this week - too cheap?

$600 is an amazing price for such a large TV. Are Aldi TV's generally any good? What I'm a little concerned about if I buy one is the sound quality. Thoughts peoples?

I bought a 40" a few years ago and no problems yet.
If everything is fine except the sound, buy a Soundbar and you are still miles ahead.
If not happy, just get a refund.

All I can say is that the 65" 4K I bought about 4 years ago from them(it was $749 if I remember) it still works just like their 42" 4K which is used much more intensively in the gaming area.

What I do notice when I load up the Mac Mini, which is my media player, I am so sick of these dodgy M8 boxes, is that the white screen is not purely evenly white over the entire surface, somewhat slightly shady grey patches but I don't notice anything when I watch a move.

I am not aware of any flatscreen telly that has a decent sound quality. For voice it is OK however I would NEVER watch a movie without my sound system, which I would not consider DTS certified but at least my 12" side speakers can handle evenly down to 25Hz and my rear speakers can go below 40Hz as well. Not a fan of those pumping subwoofers that only operate on one frequency, yuck.

I'd never buy one again Leroy
Perhaps they have got better, but i can only imagine they will always be 2 tiers lower than a Sony etc

I am yet to see an ALDI TV that impressed me.

The sony in JB looked amazing and is a 200hz job. $2295 for 65" and has Android built in so you can load kodi and other stuff. But then do I want android after my phone experinece in my other thread! Just can't get away from it.

Or what other TV do I look at? I do like the Android idea though.

Edit. I should say that sony had a 4k source too as opposed to the other brand TV's with just a bluray input.

Family has 2 Sony Android TV's
    They are awesome!!!
Had them for 2 years now, no issues what so ever.

I love them.... PQ is unreal, Sound is great, Netflix and YouTube work flawlessly and you can side load all the naughty apps just fine!
It is also proper Android TV, so has voice commands etc, which is very handy.

A company like Sony would not muck around with some flakey, clunky OS!
Their whole brand would be on the line

Of course, you can just buy what ever display you like and buy a android box like the Vodafone unit for $72
The Android experience has, in real world terms, been so beneficial, as so much content is now online....
Even small supporter number sports like "V8 Superboats" are live via their FB page when events are on.
Just finished watching our Aussies in France competing in the Southern 80 boats.
Plus you have your Movie and TV Show servers

Just keep an eye on Oz Bargain Leroy, they often have a 65" Sony on special from somewhere.

As for ALDI, i don't think i'd even buy one for a bedroom or workshop TV now days.
Why???? A proper Tier 1 TV doesn't cost that much anymore
What i have found, is its really hard to get a 36" or 40" for a bedroom TV now days, its all 55" and up now.

I guess for a little over $700, you can have the ALDI TV and buy the $72 Vodafone Android box
Just the ALDI 55" TV i bought, then sold 1 month later died within 12 months on the poor fella i sold it too, we couldn't find the receipt, so he was stuffed.

Most tellys I see in JB look the same or worse than my 4 y/o Aldi.
The few that look significantly better are OLED.

I would wait until Aldi has an OLED TV.

I am never going to pay 2.5k for a telly, would rather invest a golden toilet

The Sony 65" TV I mentioned above is now $1895 in JB and the same price on Sony's website. I gather they really want to run them out now. And they have interest free!!!!
Not used that for 15yrs lol. hmmmm oh and it's a 200Hz X8G series TV. odd no USB recording though

What else should I look at? There was a run out LG 65" 100Hz one but they sold that.
