ebay is a pain these day , never know where something actually is coming from
then when you check the tracking you can see it is from overseas.

For the last 6 odd months now when i buy something i will send an email asking
if it is in stock and on australian soil before i buy.

Even then you get shafted so i leave negative feedback and then they will
contact you with a pitiful amount to change your feedback which i never do.

Ok more fun with seller selling FAKE rtl.
i have asked for refund got told $5 then $10 then $15 and i stopped responding to his shit.
i had not left any feed back yet so today i did.
basically said - scammer seller selling fake items.
seller responded at the speed of light asking me to change it for a full refund.
i am on to this scammer so i said refund me FIRST then i will change it.
    no answer from scammer.
what the scammer waned me to do was change it then NOT give me a refund.

I have used e-Bay quite a lot for many years and have never had any problems.

It pays to check the feedback of a seller in order to see if he/she has a good reputation prior to your purchase.

I have rarely bought from first-time sellers and always use Paypal.

I have had same small refund offers that was not worth it. I got instant responce by leaving bad feedback. All other replys would take 24+ hours feedback stood. They must have had a lot of suckers change their feed back or acecept the pitance offer as the feeed back was 98%

Interestingly enough, I purchase 3 panel heaters from eBay, and two failed within a couple of months. Yes, a little bit af back and forth to demonstrate that they were not working. BUT I have two brand new heaters sitting at home waiting for my return. They did not even want the old one's back, so I'm certain I can find some use for the spare parts that they will create.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

I haven't had any real issues with ebay and we buy a fair amount. I bought a UPS last week and it arrived DOA, an ebay return was authorised and I dropped it off at the post office this afternoon, no cost to me.

Many are based in China, but drop-ship into warehouses around Sydney then post from there. Generally no issue if the item is available and in the warehouse, but if you need a replacement or if the item is not available the delays can be lengthy.

Nope, as a seller, call ebay, sook, show you did what you could and all negatives get removed.

I dont have any negatives, im the perfect seller, and i tell all my smart arse customers where to go......

If you think scammer sellers are a issue, come and become a seller, the scammer list grows 100 fold once you deal with buyers.

Tonights a slow night, from 6pm ive only told off 3 complaining buyers who either cannot read, cannot comprehend whats written or think they can make up what they should have got which was not what the listing wrote.

Reading this thread back in September seems to have put the jinx on me. I haven't had a problem with an eBay purchase for about 10 years... until now.

I ordered a couple of brand name Bluetooth tracking beacons for a project. I'm not using them for their intended purpose, so they need to be that specific brand. I paid about $12 each for two from a seller in NSW, which is a typical price for this brand - they were not a bargain. First warning sign was that they took forever to arrive, but the parcel said it had come from NSW. I guess the seller is in China, but has a local place unpacking big shipments, then posting them out from NSW.

The beacons finally arrived and I find that they are just cheap Chinese copies. They don't even look vaguely similar to the photo in the eBay advertisement and are just poor quality knock offs I could have bought for $2 each online. The beacons don't work, because the batteries are flat (cheap ones have poor battery life, the brand name ones can run for a year or two). I fired one up with a new battery and find that while it is a functional Bluetooth tracker, it is not iBeacon compatible and is useless to me.

I've lodged a dispute. The vendor asked for photos, which I supplied. Now they've gone to ground and I'm just getting silence. I don't want the things, just want my money back, but I guess I'll be expected to pay for return shipping. The seller has mostly positive feedback, so I guess it's like the example above - they bribe people to accept a part refund in return for not negging them.
