In all honesty all politicians wages should be linked to a multiple of minimum wage

Eg backbencher 3 x minimum wage. Minister 4 x , premier 5 x etc or something like this

Further no executive pay should be allowed to be more a a set multiple of the income of the least paid person in the company, eg 20x

that wont work ! just be multiple employed , and its to easy for pollies to make them selves exempt >

Better to have a maximum allowable income set at say $ 300,000 anything over that is taxed at 90%.
this will lift the lowest paid workers to a livable wage and where there is a greater wage then jobshare comes into effect .
this means no-one gets a reduction in hourly rate so they work less , therefore more are employed and there is no more dole bludgers and no work no pay simple solution ????

What about automation? Everything will be done by computers and robots and everyone will be out of work.......sounds ideal.

Not that all pollies deserve a decent salary, but, think of it like this. We do not complain when the CEO of BHP takes home $1.7mil. Our pollies are responsible for an economy that includes BHP, ergo, their wages should be commensurate. The only real difference is that the Pollies are on public display 24/7, and their job is up for grabs every 4 years. How many of us could name the CEO, or any of the board members of BHP without looking them up?
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

The obvious difference is that the BHP Chairman and board are paid with BHPs money, not mine.

I see absolutely NO value in a $46k pay rise for ANY politician in this country. It's obscene, hypocritical, and insulting.

We will say plenty, but no one with the ability to change anything will listen.
What real options do we have if we don't agree with this pay rise?

As if 'we' have a say

We have the power of our vote every 3 or 4 years based on 'some' promises being made which @ the end of the day are meaningless

We do NOT live in what we are constantly told is a democracy
