Id go the Toyota for the long run, running costs, reliability etc.

Id put the Honda for keeping resale value and quality.

Id put the Mazda2 for looks.....you already know my opinion of Mazdas.

Personaly id go Yaris and sleep at night knowing its Toyota built (bullet proof).

When we first got the car, I worked out that I can almost get 700km on a tank. But when the missus drives it around the home the economy goes to hell

I dont drive it much so cant say what you can achieve out of it.

We are looking in the same sort of market, have you looked at the nissan tida? It has the most space out of all the small cars we looked at.

    But is friggin ugly

They are all nice options but in my opinion the premium for the Honda isn't justified so I'd go with either the Yaris or the Mazda 2. Either way regardless of what you get you should be happy with your purchase.

Yes i think the whole Nissan range is pretty drop kick ugly at the moment. Even the new GTR hasnt grown on me yet looks wise.
Performance wise its living up to its name.

$1500 seperating the prices is not enough to justify one or the other brand at the moment.

Have you checked the manufacturers milage claims yet?

    Are the warrantys the same?

Maybe twist some arms for more free options like floor mats, mud flaps etc to tie the deal.

While the money is in your pocket, you have control over the outcome.
    Make them fight for it.

Just use a wog accent and say "tseepa, tseepa" (cheaper cheaper wog style).

Make em fight for ya cash.

Dont forget to hesitate just before signing the contract and ask about headlight protectors. LOL

I bet they let you walk out the door then chase you to your car with a OK.

The slightest collission and you are dead in any of those cars.

    They are death traps.

in any sized car you are not completely safe if your in the event of a prang

it relies heavily on where on the car you are hit from or where may hit something.

also the speed and force of the impact really depends on weather or not the occupants in the car will survive or die.

I have had extensive training while I was volunteering with "state emergency service Victoria" in the event of getting occupants out of cars if they become trapped in cars, trucks, buses and trains in the event of an accident where somebody may or may not have died from it, and at times with serious multiple brakes and fractures suffered to them.

also drive safely in any car that you may decide to buy or need to drive.

I volunteer with steamrail in maintance through to marketing and organiseing of a vintage train tour with vintage steam, diesel and electric trains and it's carrages that were once used in the victorian railways from late 1800's to current V / line service.

we also run tours and charters all over the victorian broad gage rail network.
    visit www.steamrail.com.au for more info
