Default Samsung Portable BD writer model SE-506

G'day, all. No-one will remember me so I shan't expect it. But I remember this forum as always providing solutions via one or other of you.

This BLOODY portable Blu-Ray player won't play my just-arrived "John Wick 3: Parabellum", which is 4K Ultra HD + Blu-Ray.

Is it me being an utter moron ? You can tell me: I can take it. [sob]
I'll tell thee everything I can: there's little to relate ...

So my first confusing thing was seeing that post about download speed in my new thread.

WRONG: WOULD YOU BELIEVE THAT i DIDN'T REALISE IT WAS A RESPONSE ?!!! I'm very sorry to be such a MORON.

Then my second confusing thing was seeing something else from you !
Happily, I actually read it before getting grumpy, and find it to be a most helpul alternative to getting this stupid damned machine to work.
Correct me if I'm wrong; but it seems that external Blu-Ray players won't work in Win 10 (without this kind of adjusting) ...?
In which case, an IT company has no right to sell me one as part of a laptop package because they didn't have a laptop with built-in optical drive.
They charged me a fair bit for it.
You appear to be a woman of VERY FEW words; but if you can find 30 seconds, would you be furtherly kind (I do my best to imitate Trump - NOT !) and reply ?

The free leawo player should just work.

    Download it and see...

You normally get a trial version of a paid player with laptops these days.

O excellent woman !! - a thousand thanks from this half-witted old fart.
Currently working my way through having VLC play Blu-Rays, but can't actually open the file I download.
So will stick with the Leawol.
I am VERY GRATEFUL to you !

Unhappily, the external player doesn't allow ANYTHING.
When clicked ON, the little blue light shows for a second or two then disappears, and that's it.
    No file, no nothing.
Leawo wants me to open a file.
I cannot do anything with the library downloaded for the VLAN solution.
    Stuffed.
I shall have to go and scream at my laptop suppliers, but where does that get me ? - still can't play Blu-Rays.

Because the disks don't show up within File Manager, there's zilch that can be done with any of these software Blu-Ray players.
Nil desperandum ! - the bloke who runs the computer shop I got it all from is coming by tonight. I have to admit that his company has an excellent reputation: I just don't think any of his clients had wanted to play DVDs till now - I mean Blu-Ray ones, of course. They probably all stream whatever they want. :\
Living on the age pension means that you don't do anything more than subscribe to Netflix most of the time.
Thank you so much for your help: you stopped me from thinking I was going mad(der).

Does the external drive play other media OK?

The drive may need drivers to be installed. Hopefully the computer guy will sort it out for you.

    Hello again !
Yes; it plays all my ancient DVDs without trouble.
And now I know that Windows 10 won't allow Blu-Ray operation. I think they didn't know.

Well the bloke whose company it is that sold me my laptop and external drive came 'round last night AND SOLVED THE PROBLEM.
He said that the articles found re how to do it (I'd followed their instructions and failed dismally) were telling the reader to put these files in the wrong place. Being a techie, he could work out which place they really should be in, and put 'em there.
Robert is now my avuncular relative.

Thanks to hoe for keeping me on track.
