I had another thread about this, but i couldn't find it.... to add this video
But anyway..... Its happening all around the world, not just here.

If u want to go on an expedition get a Land Rover, if u want to come home from an expedition get a Landcruiser!

Unfortunately this is not only Australia. I know a family that are from Singapore and they said property prices there are sky high too due to the Chinese investing. I was bidding on a house in Bundoora in 1998 and the other bidder was a Chinese....and that was way back then!!

    And i'm sure many others.

Seems if they cant buy what they want, they smother the market until the price drops and people sell at Fire Sale prices, then they buy it.
Just look at our Manufacturing and Farming
They have played a brilliant long game without showing their cards, as the saying goes

He hits on education, when working at Monash Uni, unfortunately as a tradesman was talking to a professor, there had been comment in the press at the time about people sitting other peoples exams, when asked if he was aware he stated he tried to fail a Chinese female due to the exam results having good English and he knowing that this Chinese girl did not have the capability to read nor write the results. He was over ruled by management, he thinks because Monash were pulling in $400 million a year from over seas students
There is a fine line between "Hobby" and "Madness"

Has been the case for a long time
If they pulled the Asian students out now, they would go broke
That has been fact for years.

I guess that is a relative statement, as you could fill those positions with local students
But as it stands, if you removed the Internationals, they would go broke.

So what would happen to us if the CCP would suddenly decree that all Chinese property owners must sell/dump their properties here, stop buying our iron ore(they already have so many ghost cities), stop exporting their goods to us and of course ban their students from coming to our 'bullying' country?!

Is Trump going to save us?

I don't blame China, I blame our own stupidity, pathetic blind politicians and short term profit greed that we are in this situation.

We have become so dependant and unsustainable, most can't even cook their own food any more, so how could we ever manufacture our own products!

including Thailand. I was there last month and even the usually placid Thai locals are complaining about the Chinese buying up everything they can from shops to hotels and govt assets , all deals done under the table of course

    Yeah, same in Indo
But the Thailand one is interesting.... As a Non Thai National can not own land and/or property.
I wonder how they skirted around that one.... With money no doubt.
Or like they have in so many places, offered them a loan they could not repay, then in return asked for control of an asset

Australia is selling off natural resources, farmland and property to China at a “crazy” rate — putting us at risk of becoming the “24th province” of the East Asian behemoth.

I would think, Chinas objective is it break Australia away from its American and UK alliance.

1 Million Australian properties are now owned by International Investors

America, the UK, Belgium and Japan are still our Big 4 international Investors, but a combined Hong Kong / China investment is now a close 5th

$$$$ Greed $$$$ I think that about sums it up. The Chinese won't be an issue on our watch but maybe our kids or theirs. So the current pollies and busnessment don't care. As mentioned it's very short sighted.
