Yeah just need to remove the little cover from the D8 board which is covering the pins.
Hi there,
I'm trying to connect my D8X alarm panel to the IP232 module. This will eventually be used with the Ness aComms app.
The manual says that the 405-286 cable needs to be connected to the 4 pin serial connector on the circuit board. But I haven't been able to figure out how exactly.
The connector on the board is completely different to the one on the cable. Is that some sort of cover on the circuit board connector?
Any pointers would be really helpful.

Maybe power down the board, so not to short out any pins.
I would use a small flat blade screw driver and long nose pliers.
It's only the plastic cap bit in the middle that is covering the pins that needs to be removed. The outer plastic case stays and holds the lead when it is plugged in.
Once the cap is removed it will look like the white pins beside it.
Thanks again, will give it a try.
Update :
It was just a small cover and all it needed was a nudge using a small screwdriver. Thanks @secure.
