Until we have some real alternatives and we can actually do something to remove these parasites & make the system how it should be, which is to do what the people who elect them want, we have very little to answer for.
To blame ourselves for what's been done to us without our consent, without any real way for us to stop or change what's been done is rediculous.
I won't be joining you in feeling any kind of guilt about something we have no control over.

^^^^^ Have to agree with the above.
I can't remember any political party I ever really supported, Throughout my Voting life it's just been a matter of trying to offset those that I think will do the most damage.
Mainly I have voted for Minor parties that had a chance of getting a seat and preferences did not go where I didn't want.
If we went back 30 years and switched the election results each time, The only possibility I can see is things would be the same, maybe a little worse. We wouldn't be here saying "we voted correctly" that for sure.
For me there has never been any " These are the right people" It's been a matter of " Can't let them in to Fk things up so bad even though this mob are still useless".
You miss the point. I don't feel guilt (sh!t, why should I), but I DO accept my share of responsibility.
Threaten an individuals job and you have some leverage. Many of these useless fools have no other career or worth to society. If you make it absolutely clear that their individual neck is on the block every time, then you might have some influence. Fold and accept the status quo then you have what we have which is second rate and dumb.
The fact that there's a highway to hell and a stairway to heaven says a lot about the anticipated traffic flow.
Which is why we currently have monkeys running for parliament. If you were the CEO of (f'rinstance) BHP, why would you take a pay cut to run for parliament?Things like "you pay peanuts you get monkeys."
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...
The monkeys in parliament already get a lot more than they are worth.
It is a big mistake to assume that somebody is better because they have more money.
A great performer does their job not only for money while a bad one will only ever do it for money.
CEOs and the other trough pigs on the board of many companies only get so much money because they hold the majority of votes/shares so they can give themselves any remuneration they want.
This has absolutely nothing to do with good performance.

Seems you missed my point too...
All this "we created", "we are guilty" & "we accept our share of responsibility" stuff is just rubbish.
Blaming ourselves for what these pieces of sh*t have done and are still doing is also rubbish, we didn't do it, they did, and they did it in such a way it's been impossible for us to do anything about it.
If it was possible for us to do something about it, don't you think that something would have been done by now?
A lot of Australians are not happy with these germs that are supposed to be our leaders, but we have no real options as to what to do to force them to be leaders we can be assured will do what their voters want.
The only ones that can make it absolutely clear that their necks are on the block is them, they write the rules not us.
And we already know the chances of that happening.
Just for the record I do agree with you with regards to that, make the parasites accountable, punishable by minimum prison sentences of about 5 years for a breach, if they breach again, double it.
And once again therein lies the problem, they make the rules, and they will never ever make such rules.
Anyone who stands up against them & threatens their job or does whatever else they believe might make them accountable to the voters, the first thing that will happen is they will be targeted and silenced.
They even do that to their own, usually newcomers who enter the arena with the best intentions, it doesn't take them long to shut those newcomers up so they are no longer a threat.
Can't see that changing anytime soon...
It's only the naieve that think the Pollies are there to serve the peoples best interests. they are all connected and it is big business that controls who gets in and what they do. Big business, particularly the media companies control elections and if you are not going to give them what they want, then forget about having a showing of getting anywhere.
You are dead right about the newcombers as well. They either quickly learn to play the game or they are out on their arse.
The thing is it is big Business that run free countries not the pollies at all.
Big biz Buys off the pollies, influences outcomes of elections and generally gets what they want even if one industry may loose out to another from time to time.
Wouldn't matter what you paid the pollies, those with vested interests and endless millions/ Billions will always be thee with a bigger incentive. You can't eliminate human greed nor corruption.
We often look at the decisions pollies make and think they must be morons to go that way but they are far from it. They are going what their big Biz mates want them to do to suit their own agenda's.
There is a reason the rich are getting richer and the poor Poorer.
