    Default Ness Alarm Radio Range

    Hi Everyone,
We have a Ness D16X alarm with a wireless receiver (part 100-200). I've noticed the remotes which are brand new struggle to work, for example today I was in the car with the receiver 10m away and in direct line of sight and the alarm would not repsond.
I've also noticed the smaller RR3 reed switches are useless beyond about 10m from the receiver (which is mounted on the garage ceiling.)
Is this normal? I would have thought the range would be more like 30 - 50m.
Is there anything I can do to increase the range? The wireless transmitters all have brand new batteries. I can see the little aerial wire hanging out of the receiver.
    Any advice would be helpful.

    Thanks
