    Default Phone memory

I have a cheap Chinese clone phone that works for most of what I want. It is running Android 5.0 Lolipop. If I look at the system settings: In Storage it tells me that I have 30Gb total space available in internal storage. (available 31.4Gb) Yet when I plug my phone into my computer it only reports 1.3Gb of storage. I have yet to plug in an SD card, but what I want to know is, how the **** (insert appropriate norty werd here) do I access the rest of the storage? I downloaded some maps onto the thing today and they all went to the 1.3Gb storage so I have 30 odd Gb that I can't seem to use.

    Any thoughts?

probably not real - most of the cheap chinese clones have SD cards as their flash drive internal - if you are up to it, might be worth popping the screen off and checking the SD card inside the phone

There is no SD card inside the phone. I have yet to purchase one as there is a slot for one. It does report that the SD card slot is empty.

Hey Lsemmens - what I mean is inside the phone (under the screen where you can't access) is a memory stick that holds the operating system - that isn't a real 32 gig

If P20 model means something to you, that is the only identifying marks on it other than the IMEI. There are 15 screws that hold the pcb to the screen. Given my run with phones of late, I'm not about to pull the thing apart just to prove a point. I do agree, though, that it might be misreporting the truth.

Thanks mate. I am likely going to replace it with a new one from Hellstra soon. The problem being flaky reception in my area. I'll need a blue tick phone and the usual offering from Telstra does work well here and in the surrounds. It was worth a try.

The chinese and dodgy memory are not a good combo. Like the fake memory cards on ebay (sold as 128 gb etc, give them a month and they are showing 4gb), cheap chinese clone phones likely have similar issues with flash memory. In that they don't have a memory

I bought Telstra essential smart phone $59 recently has blue tick works good. To improve range I solder connections to int ant to enable plug in Port Omni ant. Goes from no bars to 2bars ,diff between call/no call. I bought a China phone once, absolutely useless!
