    Default Bosch Alarm RF sensors

    Hi All,

I've got a Solution 16+ that's been running since 2008. Over the last 3 years, the RF switches on doors and windows have started to fail (even with new batteries) and I've replaced them with newer ones however I'm trying to see if there's anyway that they can be repaired.

At present, the alarm panels (if I go into Zone Array) always shows it as open and if I partial arm it at night, I run the risk of it possibly triggering. Has anyone had similar issues or repaired these switches (just hate paying new ones at $90+ a pop if I don't have to).

Could be numerous problems here. When you replaced them with new ones, what was the process? Do they work closer to the receiver? Really sounds like they are not setup correctly.

The original ones worked fine for about 7 years (probably about 2 battery changes). Then, even if the battery was replaced, they would still show as open. They were setup properly. I suspect something has started to fail on them - thought it might have been the metal strip. I'll keep playing with them to see if I can find a cause but curious if anyone else had the same (or similar issue).

    Seems unusual.
    Could try -
when battery is removed, short out the battery terminals to make sure it is fully discharged before inserting new battery.
once mounted back together trigger the sensor a few times so the alarm can see it status
Check the tamper switch, not damaged.

Do the sensors get full sun where positioned?

    Generally not repairable.

No they don't get full sun. It was odd that they would all start going around the same time.

I'm going to try and add one as a new sensor to see what zone array shows me re the connection opening.
