Default Is the goldie back in town ?

I have had 3 different people telling me that they have seen a goldy function as a whitey. ie. The full IR2 deal.. not Aurora.

Maybe someone has got out their spray gun and painted them.

    Can anyone confirm this ??

maybe it's a whitey painted gold?

The way I understand is that there is just NOT the memory nor processing power for the 16F84 based wafer (goldie) to handle the calculations required to proberly decode the IRD2 stream.

Well I just though it to be a bit of a co-incidence. Couple of the guys certainly new alot about sats, had spectrum analysers and switches to go beyond a quad lnb. Wont believe it to I see it though.

This thread is certainly GOLDIE if nothing else around here is.

Thanks for the very timely hearty chuckle.

I had a friend ask me to program up a couple of "whities" for him so his sat installer mate could programm select on them.

it didnt matter what i told the guy that it "probably wouldnt work"
the white card was a 16f84 so i just put gg on it.
(maybe these nuffers think they are gammas because they are white?)
    anyway he went away happy

i was just amazed the the "sat installer" couldnt even program a card with the hex data and o/s, so i was very amused that he expected to be able to get select running on it.

i would be surprised if he could even crimp a connector let alone align a dish

(btw , the installer lived in Frankston..............i just pissed myself laughing when my friend mentioned that)

    cheers lee

I reckon its even funnier that the original comment made about the big bald guy from Frankston was made to try and frame me for piracy because I publicly spilt the beans on the existence of working gamma cards. I am 193 cm tall , 115 kgs and have a bald head. I live a 30 minute drive from Frankston and the closest I get to it is driving on a freeway through it a few times a year.

I havent heard of any working gold cards and like others would think its doubtfull due to memory size.

Nahhh...what a crock of shit that rumour was.

They said he was a good looking bloke so, that lets you off the hook

Anyway, Bollie's hair has grown back, so they'll never guess it was him.
