Default 1 Hour outage 3pm to 4pm AEDT

Apologies for the outage. First one for quite a long time.

I had no access to anything, but as we are on a fully managed VPS I put in a critical action ticket after it didnt come back after 30 mins. I probably should have put it in earlier, but presumed it would come back on its own.

The issue was the host node suffered a kernel panic. You can Google it

Facebook, Twitter, etc. can die in a hole as far as I am concerned. But seeing "site unreachable" instead of austech.info gave me the chills.

Yep, that's about the best description I came across. I hadn't heard of it before because apparently nothing ever goes wrong with Linux

I got some medications, quite a few actually, that's supposed to be good for panic attacks and Anxiety.
Will either fix it or kill the patient stone dead.
Either way, that problem is fixed even if you have a new one to contend with.

    I WISH they WOULD die.
Can you believe earlier this year when Face ache went down, people called emergency services? From what I read, wasn't one or two cases, there were THOUSANDS of calls.

If that's not a sobering reflection as to the moronic brain dead society we have become, I don't know what is.

A kernel panic is a Linux BSOD, the only real difference being that a) they are so rare, almost no one has experienced one and b) they are usually easily recovered from.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

    Some thing like

A Rolls-Royce does not break down. It 'fails to proceed.
Death smiles at everyone. Grumpy old men smile back.
