Default Bosch alarm run off time

Hi there, just a silly question. How long the bosch alarm will scream for after it detects an activity unless you turn it off by code.

I have a bosch 2000 and it went off and then it stopped screaming after probably 5-10 mins.

Is this very normal. Shouldnt it continue screaming unless turn it off by code.

    Thanks all for your help.

No Aust Standards is 5 mins for sirens,
Blue strobe light should keep flashing until disarmed or unless set for 24hrs.

Image if your neighbours went away for 2 weeks and the sirens went off on the first day! I don't think you would be happy. Hence the 5 mins.

Per zone. Just to be pedantic:

    1. An alarm condition on a single zone shall cause the audible alarms tosound for a period that is not longer than a total of 5 min, or as otherwise specified bylegislation. Subsequent sounding of audible alarms for a further period of up to 5 minshall only occur where

      1. (i) the intruder alarm system has been manually reset on-site; or
      2. (ii) a subsequent alarm is generated in a different zone of a multi-zone system.

    Also:

Local legislation may impose bans or limits on the duration or sound level of audiblealarms.

    which would take precedence.

Although that said, whether it sounds for 1 minutes, 5 minutes or 5 years sirens are just a bloody nuisance and an unmonitored alarm is a waste of time that just makes a bunch of noise. They're usually the ones with the worst false alarms as the owners are unaware and there's no incentive to maintain them. Just turn them off.
