I thought that this was an interesting summation........

The fact that there's a highway to hell and a stairway to heaven says a lot about the anticipated traffic flow.

A new movie dropped on Netflix called ‘Don’t Look Up’. It’s a satirical science film about planet destroying asteroid that is on a collision course with Earth, and how politicians and news and social media change the narrative to suit their own agenda.

I won’t give away the ending, but replace ‘asteroid’ with any number of peer reviewed scientific findings around Covid (such as vaccination, mask wearing, physical distancing, etc) to the political and social and news media response, and it makes you realise how far too many people get their information from the wrong sources.

But the question remains if you can be infected with delta and omicron at the same time.

Finally somebody dared to look into this but unfortunately only a very small study, so taken with a grain of salt.
I find it shameful that none of the big countries with their 100,000's of daily cases have shown any efforts of research in this direction.
It seems obvious the pharma$$$ lobbies may have a big say in this.
'Nobody' wants us to know that Omicron antibodies could be almost as good as a vaccine for the deadly variants.

Yeah, we know this already though. I posted somewhere that one of the immunologists/infectious desease experts from Bendan Murphys original advisory panel stated this on TV recently. Not as fact but informed speculation.

Doing these studies might ease the fear factor. Can't have that.

There was also a statement in one of the Melbourne papers yesterday that despite the massive increase in infections, that hospitalisations and deaths are static.

I read today that Qld now has close to 8,600 active cases of covid....no one is in ICU and only 28 are receiving hospital treatment.

can forget about any and all numbers now , with the new definitions and requirements
there could be a million infected and not be counted.

Close contacts are only people you live with and not the people you stand by 8hrs
    a day at work etc.

the herd system ppl wanted has just been done with new decisions

I'm personally totally pissed off with the notifications on TV that the hot-shot tennis player, Novak Djokovic, is being allowed to fly in & play!!
(With a medical exemption!). To me, it's a case of good for one, then good for all. They say it has nothing to do with his status, or who he is,
but that's exactly what it is!! There are Aussie people that can't get home to see a dying family member! And this guy is an Anti-Vaxxer!! Grrr...

It amazes me how folks get sucked into the main media sensationalist hype...

In other news, I'm still unvaccinated, still maintaining the stay @ 172.0.0.1 & wear a 255.255.255.0 when out at the supermarket every fortnight. I did grocery shopping this Tuesday just passed, and since then I've felt a little off colour...a little feverish on and off, slightly fatigued, and I can probably guess I've picked up the omicron variant somewhere along the way. All good, as the latest health advice is that if you have the symptoms, then assume you've caught it and stay at home for 2 weeks.

Which is absolutely fine by me, because that's how I live my life anyway -- I only go to town every fortnight for grocery shopping as a usual schedule of life as it is. Apparently because I'm a pensioner, I get a free RAT test kit...but I'm none to sure if those indicate one has -had- the virus, or just that you have it 'now'....

...meanwhile, all the double dosed, fully vaccinated are flocking to testing centers in the cities, returning positive results for omicron...and I think the last numbers touted, estimated there are now 42,000 active cases across Qld... proliferating like cane-toads and mosquitoes that's for sure, and the only (reported) death (allegedly) from covid that in any way worried me for a moment, was that of a 30yo bloke on the GoldCoast (where my daughter/grand-daughters live)....but as usual, trust the mass media to hype that up all wrong --- that fatality has been referred to the coroner's office by the police, due to them believing it was a suspicious death (of someone who coincidentally tested positive for the virus).

I'm pretty sure I can identify a 'media football' when I see one B^)

Apparently the health Department notified Australian tennis that his reason for being allowed entry was invalid. They sent letters on two seperate occasions....but they are trying it on anyway.

This story has shifted 400,356 times in the last 2 days. F*cking media....

Twice Tennis Australia were told...and it appears that they never informed the Victorian government.....

And then theres this, which I can't read....pity..

Responsibility rests with Djokovic and Tennis Australia. The head of TA should resign immediately.

Same for every paywalled link ever sighted ; don't pay the money, search for alternate coverage. Incidentally, chatting on irc last night, it seems his PR team are right on the ball...no pun intended ...ie; copies of the docs are apparently floating around on the darkweb =)

Sometimes alternate links are just not there.....and I won't pay.

The head of Tennis Australia, Craig Tiley, should resign forthwith. His organisation has failed in a big way either accidentally or as I suspect, deliberately. And in doing so put people at risk....

I Think it was deliberate and pinning hopes on public outcry to force government to back down
and let him in due to him being high profile.
